Ordered the Tacoma cleats, 3/8 x 16 x 1” stainless button head bolts, and bike fork mounts from amazon.

The face of the cleats needs to be ground down about a 1/8” to allow the fork mount and cleat to clamp the rail properly. Bolts fit perfectly without a washer. You will need a bench grinder to take that much material off easily.

I am considering flipping the fork mount to reduce stress on the mount & rail. I have it positioned this way so the bike sits lower, if I flip, it will sit couple inches higher.

The mounts were relatively cheap and are pretty heavy and beefy.

the mounts seem solid with the bike on, have not driven yet.

Hi, looking for a couple more OEM tie downs for the Jeep trail rail system. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to find these? Thanks in advance.
Don't think they are available for sale for some reason but maybe an OEM Toyota one will work. I saw some OEM ones for sale on Offerup.

I’m thinking a U-bolt with two of the T slot nuts. Find a bar washer and tighten down with the nuts that come on the U-bolt. I don’t have my Gladiator in from order, yet, but I’ve been looking for a similar solution for more tie-downs for the Trail Rail system. This thread helped a great deal.

Anybody have thoughts on the U-bolt for anchor idea?
