transmission not shifting

i have a 2020 rubicon with 45k miles, a couple of days ago heard a strange noise when putting in D but no issues, yesterday while trying to get out of a tight parking spot all of a sudden reverse light was flashing and not shifting same with D I had to put in park and would work for 5 second and started flashing again, after a while maneuvering was able to get out, but once in D it was stuck in second and not shifting drove home very slow only on second gear., got home parked it and that was it. today I started it shift it normal, drove around the block normally. Has any one experience this or something similar? any ideas?

I'd be a little suspicious of that system possibly causing the issues. At least turn it off when it acts up and see if there's any difference.

thanks yes agree I did that immediately and did not worked until the next day, ill take it to deanship on Monday and see what they say hopefully its not a new transmission

How's it act in manual mode - put it in D, move the lever to the left, and shift up manually.... see if it will.
Sounds like they'll be doing at least the valve body - maybe more.
But with that much warranty left - let them mess with it and Jeep pay for it.

For a Gladiator, it's 60k miles/5 yrs on the drivetrain and unlimited miles/5 yrs on outer body sheet metal panels.

I have a copy of the MOPAR warranty document that explains some things like parts, accessories and so on as far as warranty.
Too bad your dealer isn't as thorough as mine - he gives you every little detail.

And you are 100% correct - everyone should know their exact warranty coverage - and if they buy a service plan (often called extended warranty), they need to read the fine print in those as well.
Know what's covered, what's not covered, and for how long.

thanks I did that the day that happened and it was in 2nd gear did not down or up shifted, I have been driving it for two days and its fine now, but worrisome that this could happen out in the trails

If it's an intermittent issue and works fine and goes in and out of limp mode it is most likely an issue with the wiring harness and/or sensor going bad. My transmission wiring harness chaffed itself on a bracket on the firewall and was shorting out causing false errors which would throw my transmission into limp mode. if it was a mechanical issue it's highly unlikely it would be intermittent.
