. Thanks for the quick response, I guess I’ll be buying a Windows PC. 😂
This is from the JL forum: UTM

It would let you run windows on an apple silicon mac in emulation mode, so it would be slow, but apparently it works.

I've sent my MPVI2 into to be upgraded to an MPVI4 and I may have to end up using UTM. My old used Lenovo notebook that I bought to use the MPVI2 on my old Audi doesn't have any USB C ports, so I'll have to see if the MPVI4 and the Lenovo work well enough together.

The MPVI4 is USBC to USBC, so at a minimum you would need adaptor.

I am using an old Lenovo laptop also. I have bought an usb c 3 to usb a cable and that works with the MPVI4. It need to be a high quality cable though. I tried several cheap ones and it wouldn’t communicate with the MPVI4. There are adapters also that will work.

This is the one I purchased from Amazon.

VMWare Fusion is free now for personal use, and supports USB passthrough where UTM has to use QEMU to capture/emulate USB support. QEMU doesn't work with a lot USB devices, so VMWare is what I'd try if I had to. If someone is telling you that they know for a fact (from their own experience) that a UTM install will work with MPVI4 then I guess you're good, but if this is an "it should work..." situation then I'd put my money on VMWare.

I can't vouch to having either one working with MPVI4 - I did try using Parallels Desktop on an M1 Macbook several years ago to work with Harley Davidson SuperTuner and ThunderMax tuners/software, and while both software programs ran on it, communicating through USB to the tuners/motorcycle DID NOT work. After that I dug out an old Chromebook and hacked it to run Windows 10 for stuff like this. Good luck and do let us know if/how you get your Mac working with it.

FYI for potential or existing customers, thanks to the help of a guy who knows how to decipher ECU coding, we now have control of cooling fan settings on both GPEC2A and GPEC5 units. This is a big development! From here on out, I'll be setting most of my customer up for fan temps around 205 (even if AC is off) to 210 versus the factory 217-220. Any current customers wanting this update checked on their OS should email me.
