1) Are both painted and black ones made of plastic or are the painted ones metal?

2) Do painted fender flares cost more than black ones - I'm talking about factory parts?

The reason for the second question is that my dealer screwed up. I put a deposit down on a Sport S that was in transit. The photo of the truck showed the truck to be white with black fenders. Searching the VIN number it turns out that the truck coming in has body colored (white) flares. To me that makes the truck look like an ice cream truck - I think the black trim off-sets all of the white. I want to decide if I want to ask for concessions in that they are willing to swap them out and they asked me if I intended to keep the white ones. If the ones they take off are more valuable, then I want a concession for their goof up. Thanks.

They are both plastic, they are pretty easy to change out, you can probably sell your white fenders or trade them to someone who wants painted instead of black. If I was changing out painted to black on a sport I would replace them with Rubicon fenders as they are higher and have more clearance. You can buy complete OEM kits or knock offs from Quadratec or eBay

Yep if they goofed and are willing to work with you get them to put on Rubicon Fenders

I would make the dealer line-x the white ones if it was me. Would make them more durable and give you a “slightly different“ than anyone else look. JMO

I got mine done. Like them a lot better than the grayish color they were. On that note I definitely wouldn't have a dealership do them based on how crappy they did my bed of mine.

I had the black regular non painted ones. I had a paint and body shop do them, it cost me $250 with on the jeep and would of been $200 if I removed them. It's only been about 2 months since I had them done but it seems to be a much better job than when I did mine myself. The guy told me to let it cure for about 3 or 4 days before hitting them with a pressure washer. I let them go for 2 weeks before I did it. The ones I did myself on my JKU lasted for probably 2yrs before it starts needing to be touched up and I did hardly no prep on them.

I was more referring to having the dealership cover the cost of having them done more than them doing them. Yours look great btw.
