I have this issue too....Since day one but it was super super rare when I first got it. Fast forward to now and I notice it every day, well, the days I actually use my carplay. It doesnt have any issues when I use bluetooth or anything else. Just appleplay and android auto. I'm going to have my dealer take a look and show them the various videos I've recorded of it happening and hopefully they can fix it or replace the head unit.
I have the same thing happen... & I can without a doubt say IT IS NOT A CABLE ISSUE... I know this because I dont use a cable for CarPlay. I have a cplay2air adapter so I am not physically connecting my phone to the truck at all which means its definitely not a cable issue. I actually figured it was an issue with the adapter, but it wasnt a big enough issue for me to physically plug my phone in. The fact that all of you using a cable are seeing it too makes me feel better about this overpriced adapter I use.
Please let us know via private message if you decide to have your dealer look into this. We would like to have this documented and have a case escalated in your behalf so a Case Specialist can work with your dealer to help find a potential solution.

Yeah, mine is still doing it even after getting a new phone cord that connects to the USB C port. I’m waiting until regular service to take it in and have them look at it then.

JeepCare seems eager to help though.

Doesn't matter about the build date. It is a software issue in the Uconnects.

Did anyone on this thread get the glitching corrected? I took mine in a couple of months ago and the dealer said they weren’t able to replicate. It has gotten to the point where it is taking my eyes off the road because of how bad the flickers are. It seems to be the worst when it’s in maps. I am taking my JT in next week to see if I can get this corrected.

I haven’t been to the dealership yet, guess I drive like a grandpa.
Mine flickers still but i have not noticed it worse in any app vs another. I do have a video where I caught it on my phone. I’ll see if I can upload it tomorrow.

That’s a good point. I should prbly record it just in case the dealer can replicate it again. I will keep you all updated as I find out more information.

I might have found the problem. As embarrassing as it may be: pocket Lint in the cable port.

I charge my phone on a wireless charging dock and as a result have had my phone wire-connected more in the past month after purchasing my gladiator than in the two years I've had my iphone. Today I scraped around the charging port with a wood toothpick and removed a lot of lint. I haven't had a chance to test it yet (at work), but I'd be surprised it that doesn't help it. Otherwise I'm getting a new cable. Regardless I'll report back with an update.
mine does this too, but i really doubt all of us have pocket lint in the port. lol

also, i notice car play when switching tracks will kind of cut out for a split second at the beginning of most songs on mine.

I only noticed the flickers for the first time the other day. I thought maybe it was Waze on my screen updating, but I believe it was flickers instead.

It’s not. I’ve cleaned the port since then and It still does it. I’ve even bought a new cable to connect to the USB-C and it still does it. I’m pretty sure it’s a glitch in the software.

I was told it could be my cord and I changed my cord. Even tried my fiancées Android on her cord and did the same. This is definitely not normal @JeepCares I was able to film it.

I too have the flicker in my 2020 sport 7". Android Auto. Most noticeable with google maps running. Tried different cables. This is clearly a software issue.
