Unlocking rear Diff

Does anyone know if the rear diff will automatically Unlock when shifting from 4L to 4H or 2wd? I had my rear diff locked, shifting back into 2wd I forgot to unlock it. No diff lock lights were on and when engaging back into 4L later the light for the diff lock was not on either. Just wondering if I drove with the rear diff locked on dry pavement.

Should unlock automatically, and turn the light off. No light, no locky....

My JTR automatically disconnects when going from 4L to 4H.
