All, I wanted to update my latest experience with the Mojave 6 speed manual on the sand. Per a previous thread, I would go into limp mode after a half mile of beach driving.
I replaced my clutch with an ARB clutch which improved the drivability tremendously. Still went into limp mode every half mile on the beach. Jeep was obviously still no help.
I really didn't want to try for a buyback, so I used a tip Birds83 sent me. Hemifast in Babylon NY did some work on my PCM. Back to the beach last week, first time out, with tires aired down, didn't go in limp mode, but limited torque. I used Jscan to reset, then set the tire diameter for actual aired down tire size. No more issues that week.
So, I don't know if I can recommend a non-sponsor, but the programming sure seemed to help. Resetting the tire size may have been the key, as it stopped the transmission from thinking there was slippage.
Downside - don't let the dealer do any updates on your PCM. That will put the recall programming back. Questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to PM me or comment. I'm going back in a couple weeks, and I may try to put 35s or 37s on before then and see how it goes.
