Joe, sorry for a late response (being away from home until next week). The Slec trac transfer comes with additional 4H option (AWD) added to the stick. Good thing about this is you can leave it in AWD mode all the time if you want. Whereas 4Hi (4H part time) is only upto certain speed limit (I believe max40mph for Mojave) and 4Lo is basically near crawling speed only. Both 4Hi and 4Lo are meant specifically for off road conditions whereas AWD is for paved road or normal highway use. Here is the link you can refer to for more in depth details https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/newbie-question-4wd-auto-part-time.24254/page-2Sean, The AWD/selec track is interesting...How does this play with the per se 4WD controls? Is the AWD just another option you can invoke? Is it on all the time? Is this an AWD system which is typically found on some competitors like the Honda-Ridgeline or Santa Cruz? And why do you feel you need it above and beyond themore classic 4wd capabilty.
Appologies, working on my first ever truck order (Mohave) and my ignorance about both 4WD and AWD shows.
Thanks in advance.
-Joe
