New owner of a sport s. Working on getting my upgrades list. Can’t stand the yellowish halogens but don’t want to spend tons on full LED housings etc. any updated tips or recommendations for LED bulbs only that don’t cause flickering or any other issues? I’ve read a lot of old threads and most seem outdated/links no longer work. Thanks! Looking to upgrade all lighting

Switched to LEDs about 6 months ago after halogen DRL burned out. Figured I'd switch them all, was about 120 bucks iirc. Work great no issues at all. Nobody has flashed me. Brake lights I couldn't switch to LEDs because the truck computer kept saying the rear turn signals were out. So kept those original. Here's the rest of what I have now

Oh boy you're opening up a huge can of worms here.... let the naysayers unite!!

My $0.02 is real world experience FWIW.
I purchased the headlights, turn signals and fogs (yellow) from headlight revolution, about a $500 or so package - have had mine for about 2 years no issues with the product. One of the turn signals was acting up and customer service took care of it right away.
The "flashes" from oncoming traffic are only when I'm on an incline and they are cresting the hill from the opposite direction. If we're both on level ground - no issues.
Bottom line u do u.....

I bought my Mojave used and it had a set of Amazon specials Led bulbs installed. After one went out I bought a set of Sylvania LED bulbs at Autozone . They are night and day better than the cheap ones. Good cutoff and even light pattern. I’ve never been high beamed by another driver in the year that I’ve been running them .

He's not wrong, just being a bit harsh. I've been in the Headlight Junkies group on facebook for a couple years now and this topic always comes up.
Halogen housings aren't designed for LED and HID bulbs. The reflector will scatter the light all over the place without a hotspot to light up the road at a distance. Sure, they will appear bright AF, but that's only because like I said, the light is being scattered everywhere instead of where you need it most, down the road.

Now, with that said, if you're absolutely set on using LED bulbs, check out @Diode Dynamics SL1 bulbs, or their new SL2 bulbs. SL1's were one of the only bulbs I've seen recommended in a halogen housing.

The right bulbs definitely work well in halogen housings. As long as you get the 2-sided LED bulbs that emulate halogen filament placement and not the ones with diodes all around the bulb then it'll have a damn new OEM beam pattern.

LasFit is decent. I've currently switched back to Sealight. I went HID bulbs but they started dying after i hit a puddle to hard. Whatever u do get make sure it specifies that it simulates a stock bulb not just has 80 bajillion diodes on it. You also want one that has a built in CANBUS so it doesn't flicker. It will take time to adjust properly as well. It took me about 20 min to get it right but I got mine to match the halogen beam pattern. TBH you're not gonna get a huge gain in light. Just a bit more density and color change. And no I don't get flashed, I've done my due diligence its doesn't blind people. LEDs get a bad rep because of poor install or putting in the wrong bulb.

Thank you for the mention and support!

Jeep Gladiator Updated recommendations for LED bulbs in halogen housing DSC09392

Our SL1 bulbs were the first on the market designed to replicate a factory halogen bulb compared to cheap knockoff options scattering the light and creating terrible beam patterns.

These pop-up brands overnight have ruined the roads and saturated the market with poor performance compared to our engineering team's research and development of a true performance upgrade.

All of our products are designed, engineered, and tested, and the majority are assembled in-house at our HQ in St.Charles, MO.

As mentioned, we've just updated our SLF and SL1 LED bulbs to our SL2 and SL2 Pro LED bulb lineup.

JL/JT Jeep models equipped with factory halogen headlights use a dual filament H13 bulb.

Take the grill off and unbolt the headlight housing, it's pretty simple but I wouldn't bother with trying to reach from the top. Some videos will show you can change headlight bulbs from behind without removing the grill but it looks like a hassle. Pop the grill off and do it the easy way

The bulbs definitely have a top and bottom and I didn't see a clear marking. So I put them in and checked high beams before re installing the grill. It was very obvious I had one upside down as high beam was pointing down. Otherwise pretty simple. Will share pictures later
