Upgraded Instrument Cluster - 3.5" to 7" Easy!

I took delivery of my 2022 Sport S that I optioned up with the 8.4" Package, Alpine Audio, both Safety Packages, Leather, Cold Weather, and Popular Equipment Package. I mistakenly didn't check off the tech. package, as I assumed all of that was also included in the 8.4" package. To my surprise, when I took delivery of my JT two weeks ago, I had a fully loaded interior, but a base model black and white instrument cluster- uh oh!

I did a little research online, and ended up finding an instrument cluster out of a totaled 2020 JT with the tech package for $125 on lkqonline.com. I just recieved it today and only took about 20min to install it. Everything was plug and play, just had to unplug the old one after removing part of the dash, and then reinstall. Then just reprogrammed the odometer over OBD2 bluetooth, and it's good as new!

I'm super happy now as the car is exactly how I envisioned it! Didn't see the need to pay more for a higher trim model as I have no desire for rock-climbing or much high-speed off roading. The Sport S with all the packages I wanted is a perfect truck for me!

First thanks for posting this, I am in the same boat and exceptionally frustrated. The dealer wont put it in said it wont work without the Tech Package, another dealer told me I would void my warranty so they are all over the map. My question is have you had any glitches with it since swapping? Also I see the new displays mileage doesn't match the old. Did you correct this or did it correct itself? Worried they might void warranty if the mileage was off. Thanks for any information.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I think this is relevant. I'm about to purchase a JTD with all the options I want BUT the technology package and I would like to swap out what I'm getting for the 7" cluster. From what I can find, there are two clusters—one for the 3.6 V6 and one for the diesel. The part number for the diesel cluster is 68525953AE. Also, if someone could double-check me on that I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I guess ya have to stick to a JT cluster. I bought one for a 22 JL to try in my 22 JT from LKQ. I guess I learned the hard way . It made the temp setting on the 8.4 radio in Celsius even though the cluster read correctly .Yes I did try to switch it on the radio, does nothing with the 7" but does with reinstalled 3.5. I never bothered swapping the splash screen being I could not correct the temps with alfaOBD. The heated seat no longer comes on when its 39 degrees or lower outside with remote or push button start inside. Heated steering wheel works fine it only effected the seat The heated seat still works manually . Reinstalled the 3.5" and will wait till I come across a sensibly priced and close mileage wise 22 JT cluster. Strike one !

Bingo… got a 2023 cluster from a Sport S with tech pkg. works fine in my 22. Now i will have to sell the 22 wrangler Rubicon cluster with 11,000 miles on it . glad thats over
