I've lift my 2023 Rubicon with a Clayton 3.5" over land lift with their HD rear spring which added about 3/4" more lift they said. I've have 37.12.50/17 milestart patagonia mt2 on it. with 5:13 yukon gear and a 1.5" drop for the carrier bearing. I have a vibration around 65-75. That i can't figure out. It's not a tire shake like one's out of balance i just had that check. It's for sure something with the drivetrain. I had it aligned but i'm not sure i trust the shop that did it. I just changed the def oil and everything looked good in there. I'm sure i'm not the only one thats had a problem so any idea on what to check are try??? The only thing i can think of is pinion gear angle.

Hey there!

The HD rear coils are designed to run about 600-800 lbs of additional weight from accessories, so it's possible that without enough weight on there, the springs are adding a bit too much height. However, this is also an issue that a lot of times is solved by going through and checking all of the jam nuts on all control arms and track bars to make sure nothing is loose, as this will definitely lead to vibration and eventually worn-out threads.

While the issue may not be suspension related at all, feel free to give us a call and we are always happy to do what we can to help out!

Please tell me the story!! This started once i got the gears but was thinking the drive shaft was the problem!!
Long story short as possible.

Yukon Gear and Axle was great before they were bought out. Once that happened they out sourced they production of ring and pinions to you guess ut....... Cyh-na.

One of my buddy owns and operates a hugely successful shop here in MD "was" an offfical Yukon Gear and Axle vendor and installer. So I had him do a 3.73 ring & pinion and dura grip LSD in my 2010 Tahoe PPV, FBO & cam with a 3200 stall converter; nothing crazy but would eat up Jeep SRT8s.

So one what happened, well I went through the break in period and fluid swap. All was good for about 11,000 miles until one evening when I went to pick up my son from soccer practice. Driving like a normal person where was a slight whine from the rear then 3/4 mile from the house something went crunch in the rear and the noise went to a crunching grinding nightmare.......my son was like WTF. I went to gas it a bit and it felt like the rear end had a misfire.

Got it home and pull the fill plug, the diff fluid was super foamy and had alot of metallic material in it. The next day took up to my other buddies shop who was only half mile up the street. They pulled the diff cover and sent me pics of the remains of my pinion gear; it shed 4.5 of the 11 pinion gears. I ordered parts and had them fix it. When with a set from Richmond that.

More back story. My buddy that did in the install offered to warranty it because he was the the vendor and installer. We had a conversation on how he was having half of the installs coming back with the same issue. I told him I would just eat it, because I was not going to put more china shit in there and have it fail again. He has since cut ties with them because they kept fuckin him on the warranty labor rates. Yukon cooperate told him, You're shop makes enough money, you'll be fine.

So since then i have told my experience to everyone, because most of us use our vehicles as DD and have families. What would have happed if it grenaded while getting on to the highway or if a chunk of the pinion gear locked the rear end up.

So take that all for what its worth. But it you have noises or vibration, trust your gut and pull the cover and take a look. Look for excessive heat, stress cracks or any chipped in the ring or pinion. I would have check mine, but there was not previous indication.
