Warn VR EVO 12S & Control Pack Relocation

Installing a Warn VR EVO 12S and a Genright Aluminum Stubby I wanted to do a control pack relocation for a clean look and unobstructed airflow but warn does not yet offer a kit so I made my own. The control pack itself was easy to take off but to large to mount anywhere reasonable near the battery. I shopped around for a nice bracket to mount the electrical goodies that live inside the control pack but found none I liked so I decided to make my own.

Control pack goodies that will tuck in nicely beside the batteries with the right bracket.

Bracket fabbed from scrap.

Solenoid and receiver mounted. Remote socket to follow.

Bought these for a clean install.

Longer wires needed.

Had to fab another bracket for the remote socket from some scrap.

Turned out pretty clean. My son called it a 'sleeper' winch since its not big, bold, and gaudy like the Warn Power Plant we had blocking airflow to our JKU.

Works like a champ first try!!

Did you just leave the hole open above the winch? I’m concerned about sun damage to the rope.

Custom bumper, the winch is bolted to the front plate and the rope feeds out the bottom of the winch.

Thanks for the inspiration. I did a control pack relocation on my 10S with custom designed 3D printed ABS bracket that bolts simply onto the battery side bracket with 1 bolt. Added a wireless remote as well. Lastly polished it all off with a printed bolt-on cover to protect the synthetic winch cable from sun damage.
