Warn winch question sound

I bought a Jeep Gladiator with a warn zeon 10000 winch already installed. I had to use it the other day and when I reeled rope back on the motor pitch was up and down and line speed. Wonder why?

Yes Jeep was running and I have connections at battery it’s also a new battery.

Your rope isn't birdcaged on the spool causing it to interfer with reeling in? Go through the pretension procees and wind it up uniformly if it is.
