So I will be picking up my Rubicon Gladiator in a couple of weeks. My goal is to not advertise its Rubiconness for various reasons. I bought this for dealing with snow so the first thing to go will be the telltale stock wheels/tires which I am replacing with 285/70-17 Michelin Defender LTX M/S on Tactic D Windows along with a set of Hakka R3 SUV's on the MOPAR Winter steelies. Also, I plan on removing the hood stickers (with a heat gun?). Are there any other obvious badges or signs ? I haven't actually ever seen this truck in Rubicon configuration in my area.

It's not like it's a hellcat or something. It's not a secret sleeper. It's just a gladiator with lockers and bigger tires. I get debadging for a clean look. But as far a stealthiness, it's not an m3. It's not a z06. It's the same slow jeep, only with bigger tires and more switches.

Also, the very visible shocks and the hood are giveaways, as are the fenders, and the wheels. And the rear bumper. And the front bumper. And the red around the tailgate badge, and the side badges, and the jeep logos.

2 reasons.Theft and not a fan of look at me stuff on vehicles

Different how? something like TRD fake scoops? I can live with minor variances. not going to swap hoods.

See my post. There's a lot you have to cover up. The hood and fenders and red trim everywhere are dead giveaways. I would not really worry about it. Only jeep people know what a Rubicon is, and jeep people will recognize all of that stuff, instantly. And they won't care. Non jeep people have no idea what it is. And they won't care. It's just not that different.

you're probably right. Once I get the hood stickers and the tires/wheels changed it wont likely bother me. I was looking at a TRD PRO and a Raptor but couldn't get past all the badging. Besides the Gladiator should be more capable.

Cant wait to get it out in the snow

Seems like a lot of work and expense TBH.

Take off the Rubicon hood badging -- fine. As others have pointed out, you are not going to camouflage the other aspects of the trim level... But, if you are going to go the new wheel/tire route put on 35s and call it done. At least you net something tangible out of the wheel/tire swap.

I really like the Michelin Defender LTX M/S and the Hakka r3’s for my driving which is either pavement or snow and they both only come in 285/70-17 so thats as big as I go.

Your hooks in the rear bumper are different. I guess you could paint them black…

Edit: Chance575 beat me to it ?

If you are afraid of having your vehicle stolen or parts taken off of it …..I would not being a Jeep…I would be looking for a better place to live….

locking front and rear axles

I live in a pretty upscale area. Cars get taken out of driveways and put onto shipping containers within hrs. These aren’t junkies looking for change.

regardless I like my vehicles as low key as possible. I realize Rubicon isn’t a super special trim but in my area the Wrangler Rubicons are dressed up and generally driven by rich kids. Gladiators are virtually non existent here and I just prefer to not stick out more than necessary.
