So I am not talking about death wobble. I have a Willy's sport with Rubicon shocks and springs. I have a 1.5" leveling kit up front and a 1" spacer in the rear. Also did the longer control arms up front. Normally rides better than stock. Smooth and tracks straight as can be. So today I rode over some railroad tracks that are usually very smooth going over and I drive over all the time. As soon as I went over them, the front end started shaking pretty badly and I ended up pulling over. Stopped and started again and smooth as could be again. Do I have something loose maybe? I am headed out in about 5 days to hit some trails and just want to make sure I am safe to go. Any ideas of what I should look for this week. Going to put it up on the rack Tuesday and re torque everything. Not sure what else to check for. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Check and Re-torque to spec all your steering components, ball joints, lug nuts, etc. check the hubs for play. If all checks out, maybe the steering dampener is worn out. Don’t go straight to the dampener…that’s the last thing to check and replace as they can be masking the real issue,, but they can do that..

Something is worn and the Damper only hides it until the worn parts are beyond what a damper can hide . Get some help and do the dry steering test to find exactly what parts are worn . I usually find the drag link at the knuckle mounted end or Track bar to be the first items to upgrade. Feel connections with your hands , watch and listen as someone turns the steering wheel rapidly between 10 and 2 oclock .

Thanks to you both. I am going to do dry steering test tomorrow and also retorque everything. Wife and I were out tonight and I made a point to go out of my way by a few miles to hit the same railroad tracks. About the same speed as the other day and smooth as could be. Still going to check everything tomorrow, but maybe it was a slightly different angle going across the tracks or some weird enomolly, but all has been good since. Tires are getting close to being replaced so possibly a tire out of balance also. Again I appreciate the responses.

New tires will probably solve your problems. Based on you saying tires getting close to being replaced and the wobble not being too severe.
