Weld on slider/steps anyone done it yet

Altho boring i always see the rubicon rails taking a beating and holding up well. since i already have 2 sets (opps) why spend a grand on step sliders when i already have sliders that work well.

Found a couple companies and i found one thread but the company they were talking about already closed

Don’t understand why I don’t see these guys on more Jeeps. Made good stuff on the JK platform- works great on the Jt too.

Not sure what you mean- basically what you already have. These are true frame mounted sliders. Unless I miss understood your first post- you have two sets of factory sliders? These are ok, but what sucks about them- you will eventually smash small rocks into the body paneling from getting pinched between the rocker guard and the slider. (Especially if your running around the desert and then get into the rocks)
If you are content with the factory rails- I recommend getting some aluminum skins at a minimum.

just reread your post- j.o.y. Rides post threw Me off- so you are just looking to add some bars to the exsisting body mount sliders. ???. Still stand with my above comments…. I ran the factory hardrock sliderson our JKU and they “work” but it cost me the paint between the slider and body. There is too much deflection if you are actually going to use them and pivot on them. Just my .02. (Throw skins on at-least)

Ruff stuff will sell just the end caps to their sliders if you call them. You could trim them to fit the rubicon slider and then run straight 1.75 tube on the outside. don’t like in a rocky area. 95% of the use had been logs and branches kicking up being driven over in the snow.

light branch hits are regular. Real weighted hits maybe every other year.

I’m not much of a wheeler just FS roads and logging roads. Didn’t need the rubicon but it came up as a really good deal at the time.
