Yesterday I cleaned the Jeep and pulled the all weather floormats to do a good vacuuming from the winter months and the carpet was wet under both rear mats.

I could not trace water anywhere and unsure how dead center under both rear mats was wet.

Any ideas?

maybe the rear window seal.... I noticed the same thing a couple weeks ago... found a couple of water drops on the plastic panel behind the rear seats by the factory sub. Also check inside the rear window track, might have water pooled up in there. If thats the case i saw a thread / youtube about inserting silicone tubing between the window and the body.

I agree with Another_Jeep. If you are parked on a slight incline, bed down, if there's a door seal leak, the water will run under the plastic trim and collect in the floor board(s). And yes, check the rear window. I had that issue too...but, the water collected INSIDE the roof shell and not in the cabin itself. I had the roof replaced under warranty...I had to convince them to do that because they couldn't get all the water out and I insisted that come winter, it'll freeze, expand and crack the roof shell. They agreed and got it done.

I had this issue on my passenger side...the front door seal went bad and water was leaking down inside the door jamb and running under that piece of plastic at the door threshold and collecting in the passenger floor pan. Had the stealership replace the entire door seal (was around $880). Now, no runs, drips, or errors.

My Gladiator...ordered 5/19, built 6/19, delivered 7/19 so, my warranty is gone by time, not mileage. I have just under 30K miles on her.

I've found moisture under my floor mats LONG after they got wet. Not sure if it's wet shoes/ boots from rain or what but couple times a year I'd have to pull the weather mats and let the carpet underneath dry out.

for some reason water gets under those things and doesn't want to leave

I'll investigate the drains and back window...is there a way to check the rear window without rain?

I put after-market sill covers on mine and the front drivers' side would leak under the drivers mat when rained on or washed. I removed them all and solved my problem. Replaced them with clear vinyl and have had no more problem.

My rear window leaked and had to get it replaced but it never leaked bad enough to soak rear carpet. Good luck chasing your ghost.

you can try running water over the roof with a hose... if you dont have a hose, them maybe use a couple of buckets of water... it may take a little while for the water to seep past the seal.
