I waited a couple years until adding a lift kit and oversized tires. Went to 2 Jeep adventure academies and a few local off-roading events in Ohio and the stock setup with Falken MTs did mostly fine. Ben Franklin Range in Pittsburgh was a doozy after 24 hours of solid rain and Windrock in Knoxville was a great time. Decided to upgrade when I was at an event in Hocking Hills, OH where I couldn’t go through the advanced course due to the stock 33 inch tires and after driving alongside a portion of it I could see that stock tires definitely wouldn’t work. Added 3.5” metal cloak game-changer lift with 6pak shocks as well as rear track bar relocation bracket to fit a 37” spare. Also running 37” Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts on AEV Salta wheels. Best setup I’ve had and likely won’t change a thing when I need new tires in a couple years since this is my daily driver. Rides smoother than stock with less road noise and much more capable off road. Went to Drummond Island, MI last summer and no issues on any obstacles.

I bought the Jeep last Saturday and ordered the lift yesterday, Clayton 2.5 as well, 37's (Baja Boss) going on next week. Have had a JKUR for 7 years so I already knew this was happening ASAP.

Did the shocks ever leak?

Nope still in great condition. Have a couple off-roading trips coming up this summer and we’ll see how they hold up after that.
