I work in Sturgis. It's an interesting commute during the rally.

I haven't seen any lions or rattle snakes this year. Saw some turkeys on the way to work this morning, and deer should be out real soon. They come down into the valley when it starts getting colder. We usually have 20-40 degree weather by Halloween, but so far we are still in the 70s and haven't had any snow yet.
I usually stay in DEADWOOD built a friendship over the years with the wood carver on main street.
We would have breakfast together every morning.
I have to say, met some of the most friendliest locals every year.

I'll keep that in mind.

Right now I need rock rails/steps. I have a special needs 17 year old who is 4' 10". She can get in and out, but it's harder than it would be with a step.

Other than that, I don't feel the need to do too much to it right now. I've thought about swapping my JK Wrangler's rims. It has Rubicon rims with 33" KO2s on it. I think I'm ordering a Bulletpoint phone and action camera mount on payday. I need something to hold my phone so I can look at my map while off roading.
Rockslide Engineering Slider/steps. They are not cheap but are very sturdy. They also sell add on amor if you plan on really abusing them.

I posted on my build page as well but why not here too:

Installed the Fox ATS stabilizer, steer smarts track bar, and falcon sp2 shocks.

Will hold out for 35’s and 17 wheels next summer. Will keep the oem and M/T’s as a backup.

I’ve no doubt they are nice but they are a bit out of my budget. I’m aiming more around the $1200 range.

Ace’s sliders look great but I’m worried they won’t be effective enough ad a step for my daughter.

Metal cloak is a bit more expensive and they need to be coated, but I think they will work better as a step.

I’ve also looked at Evo bomber rails; less expensive than the others and also need to be painted.

rock hard rails angled down have a great reputation but again, I’m worried they won’t be a good enough step

finally the LOD Destroyers look like they be what we need. They look like they offer a good step and good side protection.

Today I joined the forum after buying a gladiator sport last Sunday. Also scratched the bed with a cooler. Oops. It has a line-x appointment in 3 weeks.

Wife wanted to look at a Patriot but with the discounts available right now a gladiator sport wasn’t much more than the patriot she liked.

It’s a sport with basically no options except the tow package.

We’re going to add some rock rail steps because my oldest daughter is 4’10 and has mobility issues.Eventually I’d like to either powder coat the wheels or replace them with something bronze; I think it will look good with the green.

Can attest, bronze looks great with sarge.

You know, i never posted this back in February when i got it (i got my Gladiator in Jan 2023)...but i love my Ring Car Cam...it took like 5 minutes to install (just plug into the OBD-II port and then tuck the cord into the dash to hide)...
love the blue blink light so people know they will be recorded and love that its a camera front and back so out the windshield and into the cab (there is a little flap you can flip over the cab facing camera if you choose to do so)...and even comes with a small Ring sticker that you can choose to put on your window (i put mine on drivers side window) to alert potential thieves etc...
and best part is, it doesn't go off from fairly close movement, just when someone is up on your vehicle (so in other words i dont get a notification everytime someone parks next to me etc...)

not the best photo but it seriously matches EXACTLY the Gladiator interior and in fact most people assume it came with the vehicle built it...it's that seamless
(and it is not so cumbersome that is blocks any of my view etc)

one funny story though...when i first got it, i was in a movie theater and my alert on my phone kept going off and i was like, what in the heck is going on...i would check the app and see my vehicle front and back and not see anyone or anything weird going on...so after about 12 notifications and after the movie i go out to the truck and omg i left the truck running the entire movie haha! damnit! but hey now i know, if i ever leave my truck running accidentally, my ring car cam is going to alert me nonstop haha! doh!

Yesterday meet up with a buddy and used his Autel to do a TPS relearn and Transmission shift relearn procedure. What a difference.

Badge Day! Hooray. Added Imogene Pass, Ophir Pass, and Poughkeepsie Gulch. Great trip a week and a half ago.

I’m actively trying to get them all, but we’ll see. I’m just as excited for each one, as I was for the first. I mounted the first one the day it arrived. I couldn’t wait. What’s your first one?

Tread Lightly Four Wheel Drive Way, Ocala Fl. Super tight there, pinstripes galore. Not a very challenging BOH other than hearing the constant brush scraping the paint, that was by far the most difficult part lol.

Be sure to splurge on the upgraded UV protection. Seriously helps keep it black with a little gloss. If you don’t, it will fade pretty quickly and look chalky. I have it on both my JTRD and 08 Dodge 2500.
