Been a busy day. Did an oil change, fuel filter change, grease all the Johnny Joints and steering linkage. Sending oil sample to Blackstone Labs. Rotated the tires. The tire jack I got from Summit Racing is paying for its self.
How often do you do the oil samples?

Pulled the driver side RCV for its rebuild.

Edit: since switching to iron knuckles, I’m obviously getting rust on the raw machined surfaces. Anyone spatter than me have any suggestions for preventing it some, without wrecking tolerances or screwing up the fit? I’d like to get the surface rust off before reassembly as well without removing metal. Where are the smart people? :)

Why not clean them real well with a wire brush and then paint them 😉
I painted ever spot on mine that had surface rust like that. ...Rustoleum is your friend @WILDHOBO

It finally broke 60F today. First time in a week.
Yeah but it wasn't till the end of the day . I went Motorcycle Riding on Monday and I darn near froze to death , was 46 air temp without windchill and I could see my breath . Good Lord have mercy it was cold . That was just from riding from my area up to marlinton,WV burrrrr
Ran into a fog bank so thick could only see a few feet ahead was driving 20mph and by the time I left the mountains and got back home it was sunny and 71 degrees

I used an electric heated under jacket under my leather jacket that I can control the temperature. Have it wired into the bike's electrical system. With it. I can ride down to about 45F comfortably. Plus I use a 2 layered shield on my helmet so that it doesn't fog.

I’ll definitely wire brush them. I just didn’t want to add thickness.

Just shoot some Extend on the rusty areas - it will at least slow things down and make them look black and not rusty.
