Is that an anchor point in the rock or am I just seeing things?I tried my best not to destroy it. But it was not easy.

Likely an anchor point. There were several in the more "severe" climbs on some of the trails I did out West in June.Is that an anchor point in the rock or am I just seeing things?
Seems like a dumb place for an anchor point. Now I have to disconnect the winch line in the middle of the climb? If they installed it another 8' back you could be on flat ground before disconnecting.Likely an anchor point. What size did you go with? Definitely post pics once they're on. I like that they make these in a 40x12.50R17 and are reasonably lightweight.Im hoping for it to be a happy medium between an AT and a MT. I want the aggressiveness of a MT but road manners and noise level of a AT. Ill Def let yall know what I think about them.

Dan,Ahh, ok. Where are they sold new or were they discontinued?
It’s a winch point. Last year I got to where I am there without winching. Tougher this year and needed it to get up the last third. But still wasn’t over the edge and was smashed against the skids. So had to detach and get another pull from a tree further forward. Is that an anchor point in the rock or am I just seeing things?
No question. Would have made it easier. But Pritchett isn’t supposed to be easy. Maybe better that it thins the herd a little. The obstacles on that trail are legit dangerous. Forget the vehicle. People get hurt on trails like that.Seems like a dumb place for an anchor point. Now I have to disconnect the winch line in the middle of the climb? Putting the anchor in a bad spot just makes it less safe and increases the risk of people getting hurt though? If we are choosing to put anchors in dumb spots to then the heard, the blood of anyone who gets hurt because of it is in the hands of whoever installed the anchor thinking like that.No question. I've always been one to look for American made products, but lately I've been so fed up with American businesses that I'm starting to not care. While shopping for a few different things over the past year I was trying to contact and work with American companies, only to be ghosted by every last one. Zero customer support, zero communication on late shipping times, unknown restock times, weeks upon weeks of phone calls and emails with no one answering or responding, waiting excessively long for refunds on products that never shipped... all this from multiple companies. BUT, reach out to a Chinese company and receive a response the same day, sometimes even when it's 2am their time. Eager to help with questions, eager to make a sale, and quick to resolve issues.Another case of cheap Chinese knock off vs a Made in America original product. Where you spend your money matters.
While I agree on the surface, it’s not that simple. This isn’t a theme park. It’s just outdoors. No liability. No one responsible to make it safer or not. On top of that, the anchor might have been great in the past, but sxs drivers just sit and hold down the throttle until their axles break. So how that obstacle was in the past is very different now. The bottom is less of an issue than the top now. Also different vehicle lengths factor in. I may have more easily crested the top in a jlu. But the gladiator shines more at the bottom and middle. And if there are winch points on every obstacle, too many inexperienced drivers would take that trail and others after reading on the internet that “no problem, there’s great winch points”. Winching is dangerous on obstacles like this. I don’t want more inexperienced drivers out there either rubber band missiles thinking they can just drag themselves up without worrying about how to drive.Putting the anchor in a bad spot just makes it less safe and increases the risk of people getting hurt though?
