The same thing I did to my 2022 - sealed up the tailgate (with one exception, I added another piece to the puzzle this time)
After the dusty trails in September and the rock roads, the whole Jeep, bed included, was covered inside and out with DUST. It was almost piled up by the tailgate.
So I finally sealed things up. These will even suck snow up into the truck bed around the tailgate in winter, so that's another reason.

I added this other seal to keep crud, rocks, sand and whatever, from falling down between the bed floor and tailgate when hauling dirty stuff or cleaning it out.

Since I added a Rydeen Tombo 360x dash camera a week or so back, I saw that company had some add-ons including turn cameras, and thought to myself, I bet you I could turn that into a trail camera. I'm waiting on the rear licence plate bracket to show tomorrow, but I can flip a 12v 3-way switch forward, for a front trail camera, or back for a rear trail camera or center for regular mirror camera. The camera sits nicely above the hood lock, and looks almost factory.

Well, I FINALLY got my Rough Country MLC6 installed and working like I want. I rewired all the switches to either not have lights, or have red leds.

Took me a while to get it all routed the way I wanted, but wasn't too onerous. Had to trim the bracket to keep it from hitting the push tab mount on the dash. That took an annoyingly long time to figure out why the dash wouldn't fit back in place.

I hope I have everything routed to avoid abrasion and such. I'll have to check things in a few weeks.

Driver side fender wall. I ran the ground cable inside the wire race along the back of the engine bay. I would have run both of the wires, but the positive has a big fuse smack dab in the middle of the run.🤦‍♂️

Passenger side next to fuse box. Really nice that there's extra lugs for connecting stuff. I haven't seen that before, and it makes things so much easier.

I was considering running things off the N4 bus fuse that isn't connected to anything, but couldn't find anything definitive whether that's a good idea or not, so just went straight to the battery.

The best part of the whole install was when I went to test things before putting the dash back together. No lights. No relay clickys. Uuuuggh. What did I do wrong now? Checked voltage from the battery. ✅ Checked I plugged everything in. ✅ Checked switches were switching. ✅
Gave up for the night and packed everything up, and before I went in, figured I better start the truck just to make sure I didn't drain the battery.
Boom, everything worked! Apparently, there's a low voltage cutoff in the MLC? Or maybe just an initialization or something.

I'm super happy with how it turned out, and can't wait to start hooking up lights and stuff. Gonna put an air compressor in the back; that's what the one red light on the right is for, so I don't forget to turn it off.

Until next time,
Acercanto

I love that GapShield™ Tailgate Gap Cover. I have used that for 4 years or so and it does wonders not only preventing stuff from falling through but I get almost no trail dust inside my bed/cap.

I highly recommend this to anyone with a cap that is still fighting dust intrusion.

EDIT: It even works well with the BillieBars Tailgate Cover

Best decision you've ever made.
So far loving it too. Couldn't pass on their current sale. Otherwise been putting it off for awhile
