Thanks @ron168 Am certain that @TRI-JAB will be ok with this. Trying to work out the bumper details with CJ Pony Parts. They sell the Mopar bumper and just told me that it will not accept a winch. And I have seen so many pictures of that Mopar/Jeep steel bumper with a winch in it. And have read in many places that you can put a winch in it. I find it almost impossible to believe. Doing a tad more research before I buy one from CJ Pony Parts. They sell the full size steel bumper for $995 includes free freight, is not the stubby bumper.

Anyone else know of a good price on that Mopar/Jeep steel front bumper includes free delivery? Has anyone put a winch on their factory Mopar/Jeep front steel bumper? Almost 100% certain that it can be done but now the folks at CJ Pony parts have me scratching my head wondering if it really can or can’t be done. Comments welcome and thanks folks.
If it's not the factory steel bumper that can be made into a stubby, it is probably this one: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/new-mopar-steel-bumper-for-jt-released.24605/

It takes a winch.

Heck Yeah! Check out Post #22 - https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/samson.25179/page-2

I believe there are different heights - mine and @ron168 are the low. If you get the Mopar Steel Bumper (what I have on my JT), all you need to get is a winch plate and it works fine. I used the Warn winch plate since I was mounting a Warn winch.

Actually both bumpers will accept a winch. On the one I have been talking about you pop the center front section out and that’s where the winch cable out of. And on the top center of the bumper you remove the center plate so the top of the winch can go through that top center section of the bumper.

Thanks @MarkO It’s a fantastic and a great price. Shopping around now for the best price on a Mopar Rubicon steel bumper along with the skid plate. I know I can’t use my current plastic skid plate. CJ Pony parts has an unusual looking skid plate that I may get if it will work. See pictures attached. And they have a Mopar Rubicon steel bumper(picture attached). But I don’t think it will accept a winch to it which seems more than odd to me. Gotta get them on the phone so I can pick their brains about this.

Anyone know of a great price for a Mopar Rubicon steel bumper? Thanks to advise.

Jake, I have a factory still i took off to add aftermarket. DM me and lets see if we can work it out. I will give you a great deal, but the shipping may be the issue.

Thanks to that offer. Will PM you. And I think you may be right. You are on the west coast and I am on the east coast, may be a pretty penny to truck it across America.

Thanks for the info and the link. The Warn guard is the same diameter tube. So you should be able to use the Mopar light brackets to mount fog lights to it. I am leaning to that Warn guard, like its looks.
Jack. I installed a warn evo 10S with a warn winch plate on a OEM steel bumper. I used the mopar grill gaurd. It all works!!!!

Love to know where you got your grill guard from. What brand is it? I am thinking of getting a Rubicon steel bumper and to that I would add a grill guard and I would add a set of fog lights to that grill guard. See the much lower Mopar guard on this red Jeep. I like the looks of yours. Thanks to advise the brand name and who sells it.

I saw a video of a guy taking a hammer and some tool to knock the shifter off. He put painters tape under the shifter to protect it from getting scratched up. I went to Lowes and got a wooden paint stirrer. I cut that in half and hammered at that to knock the shifter up a tad. Then it was easy to pull it off.

The adapter is rather tall, a lot taller than it needs to be. There’s 2 screws on it that you tighten to the shaft with an Allen wrench. Look at this picture and you will see that it could be shorter by 1/2 inch. When I spoke with the guy from Speed Dawg he told me that he also suggested to the manufacturer that the threads could also go higher up into the ball to also reduce the height. Spoke with him today and he told me that the manufacturer is working to reduce the height. I think they will have a shorter solution soon.
I have a little update about this. Spoke to a guy from Speed Dawg today. The manufacturer has a copy of my email with my simple suggestion idea about how to reduce the ball height, just make the threads of the transmission shifter adapter go all the way down to the bottom of that adapter. There’s plenty of room inside the ball for the adapter to go all the way inside the ball. The manufacturer will make this change but it may take them a month to get this done. Once done they will send me a new shifter adapter that is properly made. Problem soon to be solved.
