Tinted the front windows to match the rears.

I don't get why vehicle manufacturers don't do this as a matter of course. Maybe it's because there is a preponderance of different laws that don't allow more than 35% on the front windows. If so, that seems kinda stupid to me.

There are definitely a lot of states that have laws controlling the tint levels allowed and they vary greatly. I would have to assume Jeep would have to cater to the lowest of those laws otherwise they'd have some massive problems selling vehicles in some states.

How are you finding the clamp/locks for the switch back? I like the idea of a secure folding top, but was wondering how sturdy and/or easy it is to open/close.

So I bought one for my 2500 ram also. They work the same. 2 clamps on each side of the front section, torqued down. The rear is secured by thick plastic clamps that are connected to the cover by a stainless rod. It’s good, you don’t need a whole ton of clamping force back there, and it’s very sturdy. You just cut some of the plastic away (make a tab) so the clamp can touch the bed frame and not the plastic cover.

Comes on and off in minutes. Im very happy with it. I’ve been religiously buying Lomax covers, but I have one from two years ago that’s been flawless on another truck, the one I got for my gladiator had its rubber kinda fall apart and the coating job was shit. Had to warranty it and decided just to replace with the best, the diamondback. I was going to get the SE cover originally since I don’t need to mount much if anything on top but I was on vacation a few weeks ago and found that the way the classic DB covers open, you can easily have clearance issues if the roof/port is low. So I got the switchback instead.

Now that I've got the capability to air down off road, I also learned that you've got to put your air valve caps somewhere where they won't get lost in the woods. Not saying that happened to me, but I went to the AutoZone looking for some not too fancy black caps but they only had this charcoal metallic finished caps. Was a little disappointed till I started putting them on and realized they match up with my onyx AEV Wheels almost perfectly. Sometimes it's the little things. Better not lose these...

Not saying that happened to me, but I went to the AutoZone looking for some not too fancy black caps but they only had this charcoal metallic finished caps. Was a little disappointed till I started putting them on and realized they match up with my onyx AEV Wheels almost perfectly. Sometimes it's the little things. Better not lose these...

Careful with those. There can be a chemical reaction that fuses the cap to the valve stem.

I re-installed my Sunrider. I swapped the Freedom Panels back in a few days ago to make the drive up the interstate to the Chrysler Training Center quieter. Now that that ordeal is over, I can get back to enjoying my Gladiator with the Sunrider that is opened at least once a day every time I drive it.

This will definitely happen if you let it set for a year if not longer. The caps will probably fall apart first. Galvanic corrosion is a fairly slow process unless it accelerated by electrolysis. The likelihood of him losing them first would be my bet. Also the amount of time I air up and air down I would not worry about thus being a issue.

Ya know... the best place to acquire caps in just about any color and style is in the gravel wherever tires are aired up!
