Coilovers are in, along with all the remaining armor. Driveshafts in. Heading to the truck stop to get 27 gallons of diesel to set ride height under anticipated nominal load.
tires still MIA but hopefully tomorrow mounting beadlocks and starting on wiring and installing hood & grill

thank you!
the thoughtful design behind it is even more impressive than the appearance.

it perfectly accommodates a JL style hitch that cinches into the crossmember, I just have no use for one

here’s a look at the subframe.
it’d take something really stupid to damage the aluminum skin but if I did it, no need to replace the whole thing. The orange one is one that was posted online and I saved it because I feel like it shows the extremely thoughtful execution of the shackle tabs better

the black jeep in the background, ahem, seems to have suffered a mishap!

That thing has seen some abuse for sure. Haha
The good news is the savvy armor has managed to protect the critical parts after ~ 25 racing bumps and 3 rollovers and the suspension has held up perfectly fine.

the suspension going on the gladiator is derived from that design but modified to take advantage of the wheelbase which leads to much more travel in the rear and a text book perfect instant center.
If the math has actually mathed right it should never be upset by speed bumps, expansion joints, dips or reasonable potholes in the road.
It also shouldn’t lock out or ever wanna flop to the right which is what every other tall suspension on the market tries to do in technical rock crawling

Poor man's version of the Rough Country truck bed cargo bin...

$15 Husky bin from Home Depot, two bungee cords from a $5 tube from Harbor Freight. Good enough for my wife to throw a few grocery bags in the back.. slides in and out easily and the bungees keep it from shifting around or getting out of reach.
Who's rails are those and how tall are they?

pallet of tires just got delivered. 🧡
beadlocks are so tedious but kinda fun with a few cervezas & tunes so that’ll be the evening activity. Theres about 100 yards of wiring to run and brakes to bleed first.

pretty exhausted after this week so I thought I’d pretend for a minute before calling it a night. Obviously a perspective issue making the tire look bigger and the tires behind it are 37s so the Jeep will be about 3 1/2 inches taller when these are mounted.

edit its also my bad because I was going to put a little piece of blue vinyl where those letters are cut out on the rockers skins, but I forgot about it and now they’re stuck. That’s all part of this. I suppose I think it still looks good, but it would’ve been better if it was blue.

I don’t know how close your sliders are to the body. But on my TJ I was able to slide a piece of vinyl behind my poison spider sloders and use a heat gun to get it to stick to the body. Then the spider logo is blue against the khaki body paint.
