Added an alarm trigger to my ARE cap rear door. I tied to the hood ajar circuit. Had to soldered in a 1k ohm resistor in series for it to function as intended. The factory switch has two 1k ohm resistors in a parallel circuit. 1st one is shorted and 2nd one only shorted when hood is open. The BCM sensing wire are expecting to sees 1k ohm when hood close (switch open) and 500 ohm when hood open (switch closed).
