Yesterday I finally installed the rebuilt shocks (from All Terrain Shock Solutions). I’ll be on the computer buying a higher lift jack and higher jack stands this week. Blake at ATSS has been great to deal with and the ‘new’ exchange Mojave shocks looked great upon arrival. They were very well packaged and the shocks themselves looked good.

Installation was not really particularly difficult other than trying to get the new shocks to fit and line up top and bottom bolts. I have a 2” AEV lift with GCB’s and shock extensions. I was able to get the tops in then work on the bottoms fitting. Took some creativity with the rears but managed to get them to mate up by loosening the shock extensions to start with and lifting that into place.

Not the two hour job I expected but I am happy with the results. My Mojave rides like its supposed to and the random low speed clunk / rattle is gone.

I love that idea. Thanks! Do you have pictures by any chance?
Dan and Rick, here’s a few pics on the mods I’ve done to my HF 20 ton…these mods have (like Rick) have turned this into a very useful tool.
hand winch HF for the press bad adjustments
air/hydraulic ram 20 ton.…HF carries a 12 ton as well.
storage rack adjustable below the bed rack
casters installed
SWAG off road press brake (I bought the kit)

Stan any aftermarket skids on your Glady?
If oil pan/trans skid was added, check exhaust clearance.
No no aftermarket skids , I'm off road a ton but it's 99% mud and mudclods and dirt and gravel. And steep terrain.
I do have aftermarket steering bump shocks. Gonna check those also guess sound could travel.. .. Its like trying to find a needle in a haystack. ..lol

It usually is. You’ll find it though.

Just don’t spray wd40 or equivalent on bushings. It might stop a squeak temporarily, but will break down the bushing.

I had a rattle that was driving me crazy. Found it by accident when I put my hand on the front bumper. Factory steel front, one of the tabs that holds the allen head bolts had worked loose and it was rattling. I snugged it and good to go. Don't overlook the small things, it sounded like my front axle was about to exit stage right.

Went on a tangent with the crossmember replacement. In order to add some clearance between my exhaust and my engine/tranny skid, made a spacer to go between the transmission mount bracket and the top of the crossmember. The idea is to mount the crossmember 1/4” lower (version 1 prototype), as the skid attaches to the crossmember. That’ll lower the skid 1/4”. If it’s not enough, I’ll first see what I can do to add clearance at the front of the skid as well. I’m hoping 1/4” on the rear end is enough. It’s drying after painting now, but the test fit was perfect. Just 1/4” steel plate to match the bracket with two holes. We’ll see how it works out.

This is finished up and the crossmember is back in with the new spacer. I’m happy with the results for sure. I’m leaving the plastic gas tank shield and exhaust hangers unbolted until I start test fitting skid plates to check clearances with the exhaust crossover. As I can raise or lower the crossmember then if I want to. But for now I think I’ve chosen a good position and think clearances should be ok.

So what did I do??? On my way home from work, I had the sunrider open and windows down when I heard a little pop noise from a right side tire that sounded like I ran over something. So I switched my display to show tire pressures and watched it for the 25 minute ride. All pressures went up one or two pounds from the heat except the right rear. And by the time I got home it had actually gone down one pound. I thought, Oh No. Got home and walked around and saw this. I have a plug kit that I have never used so I thought why not give it a shot. Took some work to get it out and was shocked at the length. Put in the plug, aired up and let it sit for a bit. Went back and sprayed some soapy water and didn't see any bubbles. I have never put a plug in myself but it was pretty simple. Still may have it patched. Just glad it was dead center of the tire.

Nicely done. Self sufficiency at its finest. I also have a plug kit, but have yet to need it. Only a matter of time I’d guess.

Thanks. I've had the kit for a good while but never had the need for it. Came in handy. Really didn't feel like putting on the spare or going back out to a tire shop. Guess time will tell how it holds up.

The soapy water pic is with the plug in. The plug location is in the red circle showing no air leaks. Didn't take a pic of the plug in place when it was dry.
Oh yeah. I guess I could have used my brain. Nah.
