User error during initial install attempt is my guess, based off his post on one of the sunrider threads.

HAHAHAHA - nope, same issues several others here have found - it doesn't clear the door seal and almost hits the doors.
Nice try,
but several others have had the same issue. One even had to grind the drip rails to make things fit.

There's really no way to mess these up.

Go read again - and look at the photos others have posted.

Looks great IMO.

Check the other thread I have going and see how poorly it fits and how it messes the seals.
The front end sits too low.
Jeep has changed the seals in the area, Bestop has not changed the sunrider. A number of us here (as I found in further searching) have had the same problems, some even worse. One ground the sunrider rail to clear the seals and give clearance.
Some of these fit fine (especially on earlier JTs) others not so great.
There's really no way to make a mistake installing them as long as you set them straight down and the bolts go in.

Not to the Gladiator persae, but another Jeep in the fleet. Volvo made an offer to buy back our '23 XC90 we couldn't refuse. I we were not in love with it and our son will be driving in about 18 months. Walked away with $10k in my pocket, half the car payment and saving $40 a month on insurance.
