Heading out in an hour or so. 5+ hour drive (through North LA 🫠)…it’ll be worth it!

Looked at it, sadly, sitting in the rain. Dreaming of all the things I could do if I only had a garage that wasn’t full of random stuff and a crazy feral cat.
Take the cat in the house to make it less crazy and move the other random stuff out.

At least you have a garage. I still need to build one of those before I die or run out of money.

Finished adding the WeatherTech mudflaps. I did the rears a week or 2 ago, but I stopped there because I decided to go with the running boards and figured those would be easier to do without the mudflaps in the way. Got the fronts on just in time for more snow and slush.

Technically, I did this yesterday, but as soon as I finished I had to go run some errands and it was dark by the time I got home.

That would be great but he is feral and we have other cats. He’s territorial over US. Not a space but our actual person. If he sees us with the other cats he’s in canawhoopazz mode. We’ve created a space for him in the garage and are planning to expand with a catio out the window so he can stalk birds and such while still being safe from coyotes and hawks and eagles that we have around here. He’s in the garage because one day he curled up in our old suburban with a nasty bite on his leg and laid down to expire. We nursed him back from the infection and he’s been with us ever since. Garage is about 1000 sqft, insulated and climate controlled and he has the run of it so he’s not cooped up in a prison or anything. We just need to work on the logistics of using the garage while he lives there.

I’m planning one. Affording the building isn’t my issue. It’s affording the dang concrete pad AND the building. They’re about the same price in my area. :surprised:

Awesome, they'll keep the sides clean as long as you don't go off-road where you'll encounter large rocks as you'll tear them off, or remove a large amount of fender clips along with them.

The mudflaps don't bother installing running boards, power step or anything. Been there. Not a bit of problem. And, they add to the protection where the running boards miss

Gonna be even worse for me. We don't have much level terrain here in the mountains of NH to begin with, and the boss lady has decreed the garage can't go at the level end of the driveway because it would block the view of the stream and woods behind the house. So the plan is to build it into the side of the hill next to the driveway. That mean not just a pad, but a full 8ft foundation on 3 sides. At today's prices, I don't even wanna think about the cost.
On the plus side, it will mean a tall ceiling for a lift, 9-10ft doors, AND a storage loft without looking huge and out of place from the road.

When I stopped after the rears, I hadn't actually decided on what boards yet, so I wasn't sure how long they would be. The mudflaps have pockets in them to clear the stock rubicon rock rails. As it was, there was enough adjustment in the Carnivore boards that I could have installed them far enough forward to interfere with the flaps.
I checked.
But now I have both front and rear flaps AND the boards, so hopefully that will keep some of the crap off the body, especially once we hit mud season.

About the only offroad it's generally going to see is on my property, all the dirt mountain roads I need to drive on to get anywhere, and the parking lots of where I'm trailering the real off-road stuff to.
