Drain and dropped the pan. Cleaned everything up. Changed the filter in the pan. Install it. Pump fluid in until it started to run out. Put the plug in. Start the engine and let it run for a while. And run through the gears sitting there. Got the temp up to about 100F. Put the plug and top it off until the fluid started to run out. Put the plug back in. Cleaned everything up under the Jeep. Then took a ride to get everything up to temp. Came home and checked for leaks. It only took 5.5 qts to refill it.I've been putting off the transmission change, how'd that go for you? You do the whole 30 step temperature process or just drain and fill?
I can see why they sell the pan and filter together. The pan gasket is part of the pan. Thank god it's reusable.
