I never took apart a phone. By the time I was a teenager we were well into cell phone territory (albeit flip phones).

I remember taking apart the engine on a push mower and never getting it back together

Not much I won't take apart or attempt to fix these days...doesn't matter if its attached to the house or the car.

Mom brought the phone into Bell store in a box ... they were trying to charge her for malicious damage and we telling her no way a kid did that..... meanwhile I'm in the corner of the store and had a mickey mouse phone off the display and half apart! same deal with a guy just handed my mom a new phone ......

I also owned a 1987 Suzuki Samurai Special Edition, my Dad bought a little Mercury Capri (older than 1980, tho) as a runner while I fixed his 1967 Cadillac Sedan DeVille that I hit a telephone pole with at age 17 (different and longer story about THAT little fiasco). And one day while making a plastic model of a P-40 Warhawk, while cutting a piece off the plastic tree I ended up impaling my thumb with the Exacto knife, I stood by my Dad's recliner clutching my bleeding thumb and waited for a commercial break while he watched Combat !, his fav show. When I said, "Um, Dad ?" and he saw all the blood on the floor, he leapt to his feet. I was in the Marines, you, Coast Guard.

What all this says is; none of us are original.

When I was an adult, I was at my parents house reminiscing about all the jacked up things I did as a kid. She said when I left the house in the morning, I always came home either dirty, crying or bleeding, sometimes all three.

Back then they'd leave you home alone with the only instruction, "Don't touch the stove.". For some reason, the stove was always the big no-no. Nothing about not answering the door or the phone. The stove.

I did the stove thing in the very early 80's big cast iron wood stove. Fighting with my sister and got knocked into it threw my hand out and caught myself before hitting face first but had a third degree burn over the entire palm and thumb muscle. Took forever to heal.

Had to wait 3-4 hours for the parents to get home got smacked around by my dad and then set in the hospital for the entire night. Got smacked around again when we got home.

Funny enough all the nurses in the ER knew me by name and we got right in.

Installed CMM Offroad universal accessory mount and a Bladetech Tek-Mount receiver for a holster. Just waiting on my new holster to get here but test fitting with the wrong side seems to fit nice!

I did the stove thing in the very early 80's big cast iron wood stove. Fighting with my sister and got knocked into it threw my hand out and caught myself before hitting face first but had a third degree burn over the entire palm and thumb muscle. Took forever to heal.

Had to wait 3-4 hours for the parents to get home got smacked around by my dad and then set in the hospital for the entire night. Got smacked around again when we got home.

Funny enough all the nurses in the ER knew me by name and we got right in.

Ours was a modern avocado green 4 burner gas stove. No "tink-tink-tink" of an electric ignitor, it had a always burning pilot light. Perfect place to keep the metal coffee can of bacon grease always melted for cooking.

Growing up, we had a coal furnace. Dad showed me how to stoke the furnace for the night. I was 8 yrs old. Told me just to put the large lumps in. And that he would take care of the small pieces and dust. So the one night I did as I was told. Went down to the basement and threw a couple of large lumps of coal in. I always looked in to see where they landed. Well, that night I decided to throw a couple of small pieces and dust in too. Figure to help my dad out. I was looking in when the dust flashed back at me. Went back upstairs and my mom looked at me and started screaming at my dad. I had burnt my eye brows off, and my hair was gone back to my ears. My face was pure black with only the whites of my eyes showing. Just like in the cartoons. My dad looked up from his newspaper and was laughing. Said that I found out the hard way about coal dust.

Nothing too exciting but I found some cute little hard plastic storage pockets that go on the inside of the front doors, below the grab handles.

They use the OEM screws, don’t stick out too far but provide extra storage space so I decided to give them a go.

Pics are below, excuse the grease marks on the door from the new toolset I was breaking in!

Repeated process for passenger front door too. Given that I got these cheap off Temu I’m very happy with them.

I recently installed the DiamondBack 270. I knew it would transmit radiant heat into the bed, so I planned on installing a sound mat/radiant heat barrier. I managed to get the 1st layer on and was pleased with a 20 degree temperature drop on the inside panel surface. I'll put on a second layer tomorrow and see if it nets me a few more degrees. It's ugly, but efficient.

This $8 special for now. I need a better one and will need to re-roll the first layer before applying the second layer. I was excited, have ADHD, and a bit of a “SQUIRREL!”, so the first layer isn’t rolled very well.

look into a good Wood roller. May be able to find them at a big box. Us that one that you have for corners and the wood for the flats. It’s not super important for this type of project but the mass being fully a part of the panel will show better results.

Change up your pattern on the next layer too. If there’s a break make sure it’s covered by a sheet. Try laying it out beforehand and use as many full on sheets uncut as possible. That’ll let the foil backing have a greater effect on heat reflection. Looks good though! Keep it up!!

I had a 2017 JKUR that I layered from firewall to tailgate with the stuff from HotHeads. It was far more laborious because I removed all the seats, carpeting, and interior plastics. That project took me about a week, but I was married then and had a wonderful wife helping me along the way.

Yep. It’s a pain. I did a K2500 Suburban a few years back. Firewall to tailgate and up the sides. It took quite a while to get done, but very well worth it for that plush ride quality.
