In the past I just used a cheap detail spray as 'lube'.

Now, I have some green product you mix with water and I have that in a spray bottle to use.

It just adds a touch more 'slickness' to the water.

But for the casual detailer I'm sure water is fine. You just want something to let the clay bar 'glide' on the surface.

Also - I still have bars I use but I have a clay 'mitt' somewhere. It can be washed if you drop it on the ground.
Makes sense. Thanks.

I use a cheaper quick detailer as it seems to be slicker than water. It’s crazy how much better the paint looks and feels after a clay and wax. It’s a lot of work but worth the effort.
Oh! When yall clay make sure you apply some sort of wax /coating of choice back to the vehicle. At that point its slick but its totally unprotected.

On the topic.

I just use a typical paste wax still these days. Pick one from the auto parts store. I like the ones that come with the applicator pad in the lid.

But after washes I go over the whole truck with this and a microfiber:

That's been my favorite detail spray over the last few years and its cost effective buying it a gallon at a time.

Yep. I use either turtle wax paste wax or meguires gold class. Depends on how fancy I feel when I’m at the auto store. I actually had to show my wife how to wax a car recently. She’d never done it before. :surprised:

I remember being a kid and waxing the family Econoline van out front. That thing was a bear to wax!!

Yea the Gold Class is what I used most recently I think.

I used the Meguiars (or maybe it was Mothers) cleaner wax many years ago with great results. Took out 90% of the swirls that the dealer put in a used Silverado I bought. I was surprised.

Almost finished the bed stuff, but it turns out I bent a rotopax mount in February. But two of the three are on, and the soft topper is back on. It’s feeling like it’s my jeep again.

It works well. I want to give the Chemical guys line a rip before I get into a bedliner Jeep. They look to have a good product if a little pricey. The wife will probably never go bedliner on hers so good info to know. Her truck is a gorgeous dark blue. One of the best colors I’ve seen on a Yota yet.

Thanks. It’s getting there. Still lots to do before it can go Offroad again. But slowly but surely, parts are coming off of the garage floor.

Split my old fridge circuit (10G wire) to power my compressor (need to grab a connector to finish) and still have a fridge drop - thats the spade connectors. Need to install the ARB outlet another day. I dont have a fridge right now so not priority.

They are the Rough Country offering.

Pretty decent for the price point.
