Burned out my EMC module, looking for an ignition and hot fuse to tap, costing me $1,100 and potentially three weeks down time.

I'm curious how you did that... I don't want to repeat your example!

While using a guide to the fuse box I pulled a fuse that caused, what I am told is a back flow to the ECM, shorting it out.

What fuse? That should not really happen simply pulling a fuse out unless it was some type of diode assembly and not a true fuse.

Agreed. I’d like to know which one as well.

Can I also ask the original reason for the removal? What were you installing and/or modifying?

Installed a rear vision camera and electronic ā€œmirrorā€. Have installed a pod on the back of my Gladiator which replaces the tub so had zero visibility. Turns on with the ignition and as well as displaying the rear camera, it can also show the front facing one on the back of the unit, has wireless CarPlay, GPS, collision and lane departure warnings and acts as a DVR for both cameras.

Also added a bonnet protector. Cheap item picked up online, but fits perfect and looks good.

After a little research and debating back and forth between the Antirock front sway bar, I did something a little different.

I was able to find a Hellwig HD Front Sway bar for a JK for only $150 on Ebay, compared to the $400-600. I found on the JL Forum that the Jk sway bar does fit the JL/JT, but one cannot put a JL/JT front sway bar on a JK.

For the Mojave, I didn't have to relocate the Fox Res's as on the Antirock, there are some responses on the forum that say you do, but with the Hellwig, you don't. To accommodate the sway bar, I decided to run the Synergy JL/JT links, as my MC ones that came with GC lift were way too long.

Final Thoughts:
  • BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK, especially with the Ebay deal.
  • After driving around for quite some time, I must admit, I am shocked at how smooth, sturdy, and nice the ride actually feels. No more bobble head, and it's nice that the ride absorbs the bumps and crappy roads like nothing.
  • I thought maybe my passenger side may have had some rubbing with the coil spring, but that was not the case. You are able to easily shift the front sway bar with how the Hellwig mounts are designed, just have to make sure everything properly aligned and even.
  • I did notice the ride does feel just a tad bit floaty, while my steering might need to be tightened. I do have the Synergy upgraded steering components, but it seems that it just needs to be tweaked just a smooch to make the turns firmer.
  • Other than that, 10/10 Upgrade, and highly recommend.

Shoutout to @Metalcloak, @Synergy, and @Hellwig for always making the Mojave ride PERFECTLY!

What did this accomplish? You said you were looking at an anti-rock which basically is a full-time/automatic swaybar disconnect. Instead you just replaced Your factory sway bar with a factory sway bar from a different Jeep?

Did you also install disconnects?

Did you gain articulation in the front went off roading?

Oorah Devil Dog!

Might be the angle of the picture, does your hood scoop get in the way of the light bar? the light looks low in the picture.
Technically...the whole hood gets in the way of the light bar...well...at lleast half of it.

I was trying to hardwire a dashcam using fuse taps. I can't really tell you which fuse I pulled because I pulled many. Where I think I went wrong is I had the accessory switch on (as if I wanted to listen to the radio with the engine off).

In doing this I somehow damaged the "SCCM".

I would LOVE to know which fuse(s)I can tap to hardwire this dash cam. I need one power and one accessory according to the camera's instructions.

Oh anyone know where I can get a Darwin Award grant for $975.20 to pay for this exercise?

I’m not sure how likely it is to cause damage but i I wouldn’t be doing work under hood with the acc on.
I would try to be more deliberate in which fuses you pull?
If you had aux package you could wire to those; since you don’t, you can still pretty easily find an ACC fuse and a constant power from the battery.
I’m not sure if you can tap the fuses for the aux package if yours didn’t come with it.. but you can test those and see.
F72 aux constant
F50 aux Ignition source

or could tap the seat heater fuses
F57 heated driver seat
F58 heated pass seat
F60 heated steering
F52 cigarette lighter.

I personally wouldn’t tap any fuses. I’d use an empty accessory fuse location, or wire to the battery with an inline fuse and power switch.

Why do people not want to be spotted? Super weird. To me, finding the line that works is a lot of the fun.
I get what you're saying. I'd guess that some people are just smarter/better/choose an adjective than everyone else. For me personally, I need to trust my spotter; mainly I need to trust that they can actually see the lines and can get me onto them. Some people want to be helpful but just don't have the skill to guide a vehicle up the right lines.

My wife wheels hr own rig and I've been teaching her to recognize lines, etc.; but if we are out wheeling in just one rig and we get to a really gnarly obstacle, I will spot her through it becuase it wouldn't work the other way.

While my original intent was to mock my own stupidity (and save the bloodstains from the drywall :headbang:) I appreciate genuine advice from fellow jeepers.

Thank you all and keep the good words coming.

(Is there something like a "virtual" duck? ?
