Not my first black vehicle. You'd think I'd have learned by now to avoid it, but it keeps sucking me back in.

same! once you go black it's hard to go back

Not for me, I like variety in my "rides".

Had a black grand Cherokee, which to its credit looked amazing clean, but I now have a billet silver JT and it requires far less maintenance and looks great with the black fenders/top.

I seem to flip flop between Black and White for some reason. I haven't had any other colors since my 97 GSX, that was a deep maroon.

My wife gets all the colors it seems. Love the Hydro Blue on her current JL.

The bikes though...always Team Yamaha Blue.

After 65k miles, updated the factory 33" Falcons to 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss pizza cutters 255/85R17. Only a few days with them, but I'm liking them so far. Also shout out to @darksidedesign for my new customized bed stripes, helps make the long bed, not seem so long.

Looks like you may have added the Rubicon suspension to a Sport, like I have. Any other suspension mods to fit these? I'm thinking I want to do the same, but then go down a rabbit hole wondering what I may have to do for a lift

@JTBurns I added TeraFlex 1.5" spacer lift front and back, and added 2" TeraFlex shock extensions at all corners to help the suspension flex with the extra lift. Also added a TeraFlex rear track bar relocation bracket in back to help the rear axle not bind on twisties, plus a TeraFlex driveshaft drop bracket. If TeraFlex made a complete 1.5" lift kit, this would be it.

Made a slight improvement to the bumper chop project I did a few months ago. The paint was peeling from clamping the two painted pieces together, and it looked less than perfect when apart. I also didn’t want rust to form between the two pieces of steel. So I added some black ABS plastic between the wings and the main bumper body. I used 3m tape to keep the ABS there when the wings are detached. I think it is a nice improvement.

Today I joined the forum after buying a gladiator sport last Sunday. Also scratched the bed with a cooler. Oops. It has a line-x appointment in 3 weeks.

Wife wanted to look at a Patriot but with the discounts available right now a gladiator sport wasn’t much more than the patriot she liked.

It’s a sport with basically no options except the tow package.

We’re going to add some rock rail steps because my oldest daughter is 4’10 and has mobility issues.Eventually I’d like to either powder coat the wheels or replace them with something bronze; I think it will look good with the green.

Excellent fix! I was thinking of something just like that when I first started reading your observation. I was initially thinking a silicone or rubber mat would be nice to help with anti-vibration. Hopefully the ABS will hold up. Sure looks good without the caps installed.

Thanks very much. I’ll report back after a few removals and wheeling trips. I think it will hold up well though. And it’s all of 20 minutes to cut a new piece of ABS if I hit it on the trail badly. I really like how it looks as a stubby, but the whole point of the project was to maintain full width safety on the road, and have no clearance issues when wheeling. So far, I’m quite happy with the results. I’ve been trying to get a friend with bumper clearance issues to let me do it again. It was fun, and I’d do a better job the second time.

I forgot to respond to your concern about vibration. It’s connected with 3 grade-8 1/2ā€ fine thread bolts, and the holes are exactly large enough for the threads, and no larger. They don’t move at all. I actually hit a deer with the driver wing shortly after doing the project. It was like it was one piece.

I wasn’t a fan of hitting the deer though. First deer strike of my life. That’s the reason I now have a bug deflector. It’s hiding the teeny cosmetic hood dent. It was going to be a monster hassle to get it fixed, and I would have been without the Jeep for at least two weeks I was told. I decided I’d ignore it.
