Sounds very frustrating. I just picked my JT up today from having the exact work done and just dropped it off yesterday, no appt. Shop has been here in town for 40+ years, 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty, free inspection/diff oil change in 500 to 1000 miles.

Now the good part. I learned a long long time ago, never, ever have a jeep as an only car, or a DD. If you do, eventually you will go thru what you are going thru. Not only that, Jeeps play hard, they require more maintenance, even if they don't break, they still may be down for preventive maintenance, IE brakes, lifts Etc. What you are explaining is a what I would consider, a "1st world problem". I get it, but it almost sounds like this is your first "off road" jeep. If you are putting 5.13's in it, you must be planning to do some trails, off-roading or some camping, well, prepare for it to go down once in a great while, or maybe you'll get stuck for a bit. Have you ever come out of a trail to find a locked gate where the pavement starts? or started back down the trail and come to a newly fallen tree with no saw? Shit happens. I'm glad you and your family are healthy, and I really do hope your JT gets the work it needs done, but keep it in perspective and always remember the Rush Job Policy.

If you want it bad, you get it bad, & the worse you want it, the worse you get it.

Best of luck to you, and I look forward to some trail pics as soon as you get out to use your new JT.

Well after installing a set of gears and Trac-Loc myself then catching hell in my driveway. Trying to get the pattern correct AKA pulling it out a stupid amount of times then changing shims then back again. I'd say having a shop doing it over a few days and warranty the job is worth while. I had a great friend recheck my job.. (Thanks Sidney R.I.P.) some gear sets in the past didn't mesh as well as they do now days.
Damn that reminds me, I need to do gear oil change in 6 axles ?

In this case, I think the shop did the right thing. Sounds like the work was done on time, but before giving it back to you they discovered a problem on the test drive and had to address it the next day. Because of your previous experience, I get why it was so upsetting. However, I am impressed they would rather confront an upset customer and do the job right, then to just give it back done incorrectly. that said, it seems that quality work, done on time, is just a thing of the past. At this point I always plan for the worst and am surprised when things go as expected. A sad reality these days.
