What is causing shorter battery life?

Also, AGM batteries suffer damage if voltage stays in the low 12 volt range for extended periods.
Heat is the other big destroyer of batteries. When I lived in Phoenix my batteries never made it past 5 years with many dying at one year.
Pretty much what I've tried to explain over the years - those who believe "it starts, they are ok" are ruining batteries. Or "12.4 is ok" - no, it's not, it's maybe 60% charged.

Heat is a total battery killer as people in TX and FL know - or yes, AZ!

Just got back from a 3 weeks vaca. To my surprise, the truck started right up. Original 4.5yo main battery.
You have a teenager around the house? Check your miles, it might not have set there as much as you think! 🤣
