Thoughts? I mean how long can it take to put on the dealer sticker that I'm just going to take off.. Can you ask them to not add the free advertising without risking retaliation?

LOL - more to it than just putting a sticker on it.
It's going to arrive in a shipping mode, there's plastic protection to remove, certain accessories are installed by the dealer as they arrive in bags when the truck is delivered. They are also supposed to check fluids, tire pressures and more.
They don't arrive at the dealership ready for you to drive away in, and sometimes not even with all parts installed, depending on what you ordered.

Yes, you can absolutely ask to not have a sticker added.
My dealer just as a matter of practice doesn't even put any sticker or decal or emblem on advertising their store.
You'd never know where it came from. They told me they rely on customers spreading the word.

My prep took about 2 hours with all full check of everything and the final wash to remove all the dirt from the train lots and truck ride. They accidently put on the sticker so their detail ship had to take it back off.

99.99% of dealers do not care if you ask them to leave off or remove dealer advertising.

As to PDI, there is two different types. One is when it just rolls off the delivery truck and is made ready for being put on the dealer lot as a driving vehicle for sale and road test. That is one that should take 1-2 hours and as @ShadowsPapa mentioned, they have to take it out of "Shipping Mode" and do the other road test and vehicle leak inspections.

Then there is the customer delivery PDI and that is them just make sure all the loose vehicle accessories like the floor mats, trail kits, dual top and door kits and the like is installed or loaded and your vehicle has a final clean. That really should not take more than a hour tops.
