What is this? Is this how I tighten it? How tight do I get it?

Time for me to learn something again!

Started grabbing front end components to ensure everything is tight and I found….something not tight.

What is the name of the component outlined in yellow? That is about where I grabbed it to give it a shake.

Is the location in green the correct spot to tighten this up at? If not where?

What are the specs to tighten this down to?

I think from this angle that's the draglink... does it go up and to the driver's side at an angle or straight across to the other wheel? If up/angled then it's the draglink: this is what steers the vehicle.

The torque spec is 63 ft-lbs... (corrected from original post)

That’s your drag link, they are designed to twist or flop, that may be what your seeing

There's a certain level of motion in them by default. They are ball joints, not straight nuts and bolts. Key is to understand what is 'normal' and what isn't.

There's a certain level of motion in them by default. They are ball joints, not straight nuts and bolts. Key is to understand what is 'normal' and what isn't.

Side to side movement is not acceptable (to the OP). One way to check is to get under it while someone steers left/right. If you see the drag link move and the steering knuckle doesn't move with it, you may have an issue.

Yes. To avoind the joint spinning while you tighten it you might want to use a crowsfoot wrench on the nut and a small socket to hold the threaded shaft.
