Being silly and somewhat serious -
Put the scope away and stop looking for problems where they don't exist.
It's a tube, brazed, soldered or welded.
They don't give a rip about the appearance of the inside.
With brazing, soldering or even some welding, you can have "blobs"
It's not some foreign stuff someone poured into your tank.
It's not a result of corrosion or acid swelling or destroying the metal.
It almost looks like a blob of braze or weld like maybe an electrode touched where it wasn't meant to touch - not pretty but not damaging or impacting function in any way.
It's a cheap tube, made quickly, they don't really care what it looks like inside, as long as it is sealed. They won't go cleaning up blobs of anything - in some cases, even on the outside.

I think, personally, you are over-analyzing it. (now there's the pot calling the kettle black)

Have to agree with the colon polyp comment.
Just great.

It has to be slag or something combined with quality control shortcomings. That particular spot you can see when you take off the fuel cap. But you have to look off to the side.

If my fuel never overflowed a couple times I never would have noticed it. lol.

The heck with it.

Lmao. Now look here, buddy. I’ve read most of YOUR posts!!! Back away from the keyboard with that “over analyzing” talk.

I honestly would not sweat this. Probably most of us have the same like condition. If by chance something was to break off and fall in the tank, the fuel pump pickup filter sock will catch it.

Sometimes in manufacturing, there is no reward in being pretty, just functional.

Will today’s engines even run on leaded gas? Google time.
yes they will. idk if it would cause issues tho. but plenty of guys go the airfields to buy leaded gasoline for "race fuel".

edit: you gotta delete your cats tho. leaded fuel will fuck em up

Yup - and it will actually cause added deposits in the engines.

"avgas" is typically 100 octane, but if they knew what they were doing, they'd not need to use it, and too many do because they can't tune or build engines properly.
The performance people I know now build to run ethanol - cheaper, no deposits, high octane meeting or exceeding most avgas.

yeah with e85 so readily available and cheap, you should only use avgas if you have a really old pre 70s car with its original motor. you can run avgas in a pinch tho and i would recommend a use of fuel cleaner afterword's.

Way back then, we used to recommend use of upper cylinder cleaners and fuel system treatments. When I first started in that shop - I used to think it was just a sales tactic to pull in more money from customers. Then I was assigned a few jobs like valve jobs and so on, reality set in. Man, these things are filthy inside, carbon, deposits including fluffy gray lead deposits on the valves and more.
Of course then engines were not sealed as well - valve seals were umbrellas at best, guides were looser, lower compression, short drives.................
