Currently have a ‘22 Rubicon Diesel, and i am looking at putting wheels and tires on. I’m also building a home so i don’t want to drop the $3000 for a complete suspension lift, yet. I’m looking at starting with some KMC wheels with -38 offset and 35’s with a leaving kit. I’m wondering if anyone does moderate or heavy off-roading with 35’s and a level? And what would you suggest for a good leveling kit under 1k?

Definitely will. That one was on my list of options, i’ve heard good things about their complete lifts.
My setup has parts from a few different companies but I can say the parts from clayton have been quality stuff. I also have parts from metalcloak and their stuff has been great also.

I’ll second this. I’ve got some Metalcloak parts on my JT as well. They make great stuff. Clayton is just as good if not better.

If its something temporary, dont spend a ton a money on it. I used the teraflex 1.5” in all three of my Gladiators. Been great, zero complaints and a few good miles of highish speed FSR’s. As always, buy what makes the most sense for your build.

For a leveling kit. Clayton has some new front springs for the diesel. I'm Beta testing for them right now. They raised to front of my JTRD up about 1". The ride is a little firmer. Price is around $200.00. Here's before and after.

I've done the very cost effective Teraflex 1.5" and Dynastar .75" spacer lifts on my JTR, with the BFG 35" KO2s. I dune bash almost every weekend so it's had a workout. Very happy with it as a solution.

Don't be fooled by my EU spec front fender flares, your gap will be much larger if you're running a JTR/ JTM.

Keep in mind that these things are capable stock. I have been off-road with many of jeeps in varied levels of modification and they do great. The Rubicon is really good to go.
The 35" tire is nice but really only about an inch and a half taller than stock.

where exactly does one “dune”? I might have to add that to my list of trips.

Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area is probably the most famous in America, but you also have Dumont Dunes, Little Sahara (Utah), Little Sahara (Oklahoma), Pismo Beach, Coos Bay, Florence, Winchester, Silver Lakes, and my favorite of all of them, St Anthony Idaho.
There are others that will be pointed out as more chime in with replies to your query.

I'm working in Qatar, it'll be a bit of a schlep from the US.
