When buying out of town, has anyone had any problems getting service or warrantee work done locally?

I drove 2.5 hours to Tri-city in Eden NC near the Va. border. When a sensor blew up, I went to Stateline Dodge Jeep just up the road. They fixed it. It blew up again and they fixed it again. Then it was oil change time, and they comped me on that and said the next one or 2 will be on them too.

That is pretty stand-up on their end. They wouldn't drop their price when I was wanting one of their Gladiators so I walked away, but at least the Service Dept is good.

P.S.---Travis, I'm not coming back. Gonna keep this one a long time. The mods are piling up!

Directly from the 2020 Jeep warranty info......... it states that they strongly RECOMMEND taking your vehicle to selling dealer. They do not state that they REQUIRE that you do so to maintain your warranty. (Also states that if you move you can bring it to any dealer in US) So, I do not know how a dealer can refuse warranty service even if you bought somewhere else. That would violate Jeeps own warranty policy:

I have to laugh really hard at the "they know you and your vehicle best" - yeah, right! They are so bloody big and corporate they don't know who the heck you are when you go there.
At least the smaller closer dealer - the service writers I have used recognize me and ask how things are going since my last visit - and that's with me wearing a face mask each visit as their requirements. The bigger one didn't know who I was when I wasn't wearing a mask.
Since every time they plug into your vehicle they see the whole past history, what was done and when, every dealer knows your vehicle.
Too many dealership shops are so bloody big you get a different mechanic every visit. BS on them knowing your vehicle. HAHA, funny.
Unless you go there every week and chat with them - good luck with that.
I bet if I went to the dealership I bought from they'd have no clue who I was and would ask "have we ever worked on your truck before" unless they plug into the thing and look it up.

Well, warranty is a revenue stream for the dealer, so I suspect most wouldn't be averse to it, especially in these times.

I bought my JT in the next state over, no issues with warranty work for me with my local dealer. Definitely get to know the service advisor though, helps when they remember you from previous positive encounters.
