Ordered JTR October 1st. Was recently told ship date of October 22.
Once at dealer I'm having the mopar 2 inch lift installed. I think my wife is as excited as I am.

Yep, that is the way it was listed out on the color availability chart. But they did open the color matched tops for Gobi and Hydro early.

Cmon man . You probably havent picked up yet, but we need some pics. You diggin the color? Looks good from that one shot.

You underestimate me. It was a 3 hour drive to the dealer...so I didn’t get there until 10 this morning. Deal was done by 11, and by some miracle We only left with one new Jeep (I think, if the Bikini Blue Willys JLU had been optioned with the 7” screen, the kids would have had to choose between riding home with mommy or daddy.) Unfortunately for you all, I was on my way to help close-up a seasonal family cottage in Michigan, and then had to drive home. Pictures and initial impressions had to wait.

First up, the color: I absolutely LOVE it. Oddly enough, the small town dealer had 3 used Gobi JK’s on the lot as well. Comparing them all a bit, I’m happy I didn’t spend money on color matched flares and roof. Everyone that has seen it so far has remarked first on how much they like the color

The manual is amazing. Yes, 2 overdrives was a gearing mistake by Jeep. It’ll take me a couple days to really perfect my craft with the clutch and shifter, but this thing is SMOOTH. Launching from a stop in first, is, predictably the only shift that takes some real finesse. I skip-shift a lot, so after that it’s just a matter of playing with where I want to be at what speed.

The standard soft top is still noisy on the freeway. I think my one regret will be skipping the premium top. I don’t like the color red. That said, the red trim all over, on a Rubicon, works well with Gobi. Not sure what color could be more appropriate.

So, out with the old, in with the new. We said goodbye to Wily (E Coyote), the Anvil JKU... and set off on “some damned-fool idealistic crusade” with Old Ben, the Gobi JT

Awesome! It looks amazing. Happy i went with the color. When they announced it i knew i had to have gobi. I bet your the first person to ever have a Gobi gladiator! Glad you love it. Cant wait to get mine. Parts are pilling up in the house .

My Gobi was shipped on the 11th. I expect delivery any day now, of course. Hadn't really been keeping track because been wandering the mountains of New Mexico with a few friends--one driving his brand spanking new Punk'N Gladiator (another in a MB G-Wagen, another in a Pinzgauer (6WD!), and me in my JK). But I must admit: After drooling all over my friend's Gladiator, I'm actually starting to get a bit excited. ;-)

I’ll be Looking forward to that. I was stuck in Naples, FL, last weekend with a broken airplane and found myself drooling over a Pinzgauer that was sitting on a dealership lot. If I were a rich man, I think I might take it upon myself to create a charity that rescues vehicles like that and other old 4by’s, like Defenders, Cherokees/Wagoneers, etc, from Florida and move them to a place that isn’t flat and swampy
