Looks awesome! This rack has quite a bit of room underneath it, anyone know if it would be possible to run a Softtopper underneath it? Can't tell from the pics how much of the bed sill is used.

The overland racks should be on the website as of tomorrow or over the weekend! The product has been officially submitted to be added to the website! I apologize on the wait, but we wanted to make sure everything was perfect for you guys!
@Maximus-3 Awesome! Is there an installation video or instructions available to review? Will the sport rack being going up soon too?

Unfortunately no covers/soft covers work with the rack, as it uses some of the mounting locations as these do!

Are there pics of the "aluminum plank cargo deck system"? Not sure what that is but it is an option. Thanks.
The cargo deck system mounts on the side bed rails. It is a "floating" platform that allows you to secure your spare, while getting use of the space in the back! The cargo deck system is just a series of corners and planks to make a deck similar to the platforms used in roof racks.

is this “water resistant”? And is it a product you will be offering? If so when is it expected to be released?

I installed the sport rack over the weekend. The install looks easy on paper, but was a pita and took me the better part of Saturday and Sunday to get it on. I have some thoughts:

- The rack comes in 3 boxes. Components were wrapped inside each box, but still ended up with a ripped box with pieces hanging out. This resulted in destruction of the powdercoat in these areas and loss of some of the hardware through the hole in the box. So before I even got started, I had to spray some pieces with bedliner and take a trip to the hardware store

-Quality of the powdercoat is pretty poor. Lots of crinkles and runs. Looks fine from 10’ away though

- Install is tough if you have bedrails. The holes in rack brackets and bedrails don’t always match up and it is incredibly awkward holding up the brackets and bedrails and attempting to start a bolt in the factory holes. I had to dremel off some of the bedrail plastic at the tailgate end to make it fit. God bless you if you are trying to install bedrails, molle panels, and the rack. If you don’t have factory bedrails, they include rivnuts and a bolt with washers to press them in. I would highly recommend just buying a $30 rivnut tool off amazon.

- you will have to drill 4 holes in your bed

-One of the bolts they sent me was the wrong size

-The side rails for some reason are shipped in 2 pieces. There is a short piece of tubing that slides inside the 2 pieces of rail and holds them together. At least it’s supposed to. My rails wouldn’t slide completely together so there is a 1/4” bright silver piece of tubing between them. I sprayed the tubing with bedliner, but I anticipate that this will flake off quickly.

I like the look now that it is finished, but couldn’t help feeling like a year out from the announcement I’m beta testing the rack. The geometry of the rails and hardware was just a little off everywhere which resulted in having to drill out larger holes, cross threading bolts, and spinning rivnuts. For anyone on the fence, I would give Maximus another 6 months to iron out the kinks.

Glad to see one in the wild though sorry you had trouble. Any wider angled shots of the mounting hardware since @Maximus-3 is seemingly unwilling to provide that information pre-sale?

I was going to post a review of my Overland Rack and install in a week or two, but many of your comments are true for me too. I had some missing hardware as well (which is why I stopped the install halfway through, but Maximus did send me the hardware pretty fast) and the instructions are not put together very well at all (lots of missing detail and instructions). That said, the Overland Rack parts are all in great shape (no powder coating issues or misalignments, yet) and while the install is a bit confusing because the directions miss so many obvious points to communicate, it seems pretty easy once you figure everything. I agree that you need to mess around with the bed rails and once you are done you realize it could have been done in like 15 minutes if the instructions were better and reduced the figuring-it-out-as-you-go details. I can't comment on quality issues like you had, but I think if they packaged things better, labeled hardware better and spent a few hours more on making the instructions, it would be a huge improvement. I'm going to put up a whole post on my install and review later, as there aren't very many of them.

We would be more than happy to send you a copy of the installation guide which has a whole list of the components. I apologize if you felt we were being secretive with the overland rack as that wasn't the intention. E-mail [email protected] so we can take care of you!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I want to clear up some of the muddy details!

We were selling all the overland racks as pre-finalized units (installation guide, hardware labeling, etc.) due to demand. The product was ready, but the little details are always being changed to improve experience. We apologize it didn't come out as polished as one would hope, but do know we are addressing these matters everyday and improving the experience! The installation guides will get more information added to them, and the hardware will have proper labeling in the near future! we apologize for any trouble you had during the install due to missing hardware, but this was a brand new product with a lot of moving parts so it is something we will look out for in the future to make this a better overall experience!

We appreciate the feedback, and will always use it to better the consumer interaction we have with you all!
