So took it to the dealer. They said it was the additive broke down in the rear diff. Already had the fluid for both front and back and the additive. I was holding out because of what the other shop told me with them saying it was the rear axle bearing. These people supposedly work on jeeps all the time. Will never take it there for anything again. I'll eat the 170.00 they charged but a hell of a lot less then the 1200 I'd be out of If i let them fix something that wasn't broke.
Went ahead and had the dealer service front and back and the transfer case. It's quiet now no whining or rattling when turning. Hope this helps someone else. So yea if it's over 40k definitely change the fluid if you have limited slip.
