Thinking about getting one to mainly work with on our 26 acres in E. Texas and then ride around on at our house on 3.5 acres. What do you have and what do you recommend/not recommend? Looking at larger motor units….
I see Kawasaki put out the Mule 1000 today as well

Sounds like you want a utility or sport utility based model. I’ve had a Polaris Ranger XP, a Kawasaki Teryx4 and now a Polaris RZR XP4. Completely different animals. I’ve put about 5K miles total across all machines and haven’t had any major problems.

I’d Recomend one with a dump bed. A Polaris Ranger woukd probably suit your needs. If you want something more sport or hybrid, consider Polaris General or Can AM Commander. There’s also the Honda with dump bed which is nice too.

I'm happy with my 570 Polaris Ranger Wide Body. I too ordered the 1000. 5 month wait at the time. Dealer called and said a buyer backed out of a new 570 so I went and test drove it. Glad I did. This efi 570 has all the power I need for my property...east Texas as well. And, it was $4k cheaper.

I have a CF Moto ZForce 950 HO. After the first couple of rides the wife and I realized we should have gotten one with the dump bed. The 950 is fine but the practicality of having a more utility type vehicle is more important. I like the General, but not ready to part with that much cash for it. Maybe next year.

I do know that you will probably want to load it up with a winch, roof, windscreen, and maybe some half doors. Factor that into the up front cost.
