I finally figured out what happened and am now back to asking what are these things and what happens if I take them out? The reason I'm 98% positive they weren't there before is because of the following:

When I bought the Jeep in March 2022 intended to immediately put different wheels and larger tires on the Mojave. So I bought the Bluetooth reader and bypass cable and played around with hooking up the cables which was a bit cramped but not too hard. Ultimately I decided to save the money and wait a couple of years to upgrade. I bought the extended warranty on the 5th of July and ordered the tires a week or so later. When the dealer installed my new 35" tires on the stock wheels [22 Jul] I knew I had to change the settings as I'm consistently running 3-4 MPH faster at my normal 73-76 mph.

So this month is when I realized things had been moved around and I saw the drivers side footwell light for the first time as it has moved down. There are two boxes that I would swear were not there before. Can any of you smart guys figure out what they are?

Again I think it's related to the extended warranty I purchased a couple of months ago. BUT the dealership never told me that part of the purchase of the warranty needed me to allow them to install these things. I believe they just waited until the next time I had the Jeep in which was to mount my new tires.

Looking directly at the firewall you'll see the lower unit with the zip tie and the upper unit with the white red sticker on the right side of it. I'd bet that neither of these units were here before this summer.

Jeep Gladiator Why I need help with JScan 2bottom

This is the bottom unit. Obviously if it wasn't here before I'm concerned about how many wires are going into it.

This is the best photo I could get of the top unit.

Questions.
1. What are these things?
2. If installed without my permission just a couple of months ago can I remove them without completely screwing up the electronics on the Jeep?

If they were installed without my permission, my intent is to tell the dealership to remove them and if they then say they won't warranty the truck then I'll just say fine, take em out and give me my money back. Note that I'm still under the regular warranty as I've owned the truck for only 30 months and have only 26K miles on it.

Appreciate anyone's help.

A quick google of the part number says that’s the module for the heated seats.

There is nothing required to be added with the purchase of a Mopar Extended Warranty. The only thing that is usually added under there is a GPS tracker, and that is done when it comes off the delivery truck.

I don't see anything that looks out of place. Without any before pictures, I would suggest that it is just a memory mismatch.

Hopefully, you bought the extension cable set. The hardest part is getting the cables disconnected from the Security Gateway. The extension cable will extend those connectors to just below the dash. Then it is an easy disconnect to plug in the Security Bypass Cable and OBD dongle whenever you need to use Jscan.

There's no real way to clear a path. It's a definite knuckle mangler. Maybe you can find someone with small hands to help.

Once the bypass extension cables are installed it’s an easy peasy to access with the scan tool. 👍 .

Where the F$^& are the damn plug ins? I've taken things enough apart to be able to get my hands back there but there aren't any 12 or 8 plugs shaped like the extenders---except maybe the clutch and brake controllers but that makes zero sense. And I know from the extension cord separation they pretty much have to be within 5 inches of each other.

If you know please give a detailed explanation on where to look---to the right, left, center? Way up or about where the window controls would be? Or tell me which one from the photos below. Very much appreciate any help I can get.

Jeep Gladiator Why I need help with JScan dash

I took out the lower dash under the steering wheel and removed the metal supports.

Jeep Gladiator Why I need help with JScan Removed supt bars

So as you can see I've been able to twist the combined units partly out of the way

Jeep Gladiator Why I need help with JScan 2bottom

Removed these plugs so I can move the combined units around.

Jeep Gladiator Why I need help with JScan big plug

Removed the big plug from the top unit but have no luck with the middle three. Do they come out as a unit? The two side plugs have tabs but the plugs aren't coming out.

Jeep Gladiator Why I need help with JScan 3plugs.JPG

If they come out as a unit, is the middle of the plug a hinge that comes up? It kind of looks like it but after hooking it no movement and I didn't want to force anything. Or do I some how need to press both plugs at the same time to get it out? If I could get these damn things out I could move the units even farther out of the way.

Below are more pictures of what I can see back there. Please let me know if you think they are a plug I should try.

The wires from the blue hinge plug go directly to the three plugs above.

Start at the edge of the dash, behind the speaker, and go straight up. You can't see them, unless you can get the back of your head flat on the floor under the speaker. It is something you have to feel your way through, and that metal support bar at the edge of the dash will take some skin off the knuckles. Having the extension cable helped when I did my first truck since I knew what type of connector I was looking for.

Lesson observed [hopefully learned], ask the location on your first post to the forum.....
