Picking up my JT Thursday and want to throw on a set of 35's right away. Really like the look of the Wildpeaks but have always been leering of running a mud tire in the snow or on icy roads. Did anyone run them last winter?

I don't care whose mud it is, they suck in ice/snow. You need a solid contact patch and lots of siping. Look at what a Blizzak does and work back from there.

HOWEVER, on a lightweight old Jeep, it doesn't matter what tread pattern you run if you have big tires you can air down to nothing - because the contact patch is so big compared to vehicle weight. My JTR is 1700 lbs heavier than my YJ, or about 50% heavier. That has a huge impact on what four wheels in contact can do.

Gladiators are heavy, full stop. If you want to run on sand or snow, get an AT and air down. Heck on sand get a highway tire with tiny treads!
