I feel the same way. I just wish I could hold out until that tire comes out in a 38. I really want that tire in a 38. They’re amazing. My friends have mostly all converted to them as well. Maybe all of them actually.
I really cant think of anything I dont like, which makes them the first tire Ive had like that. I guess theyre heavy but I've ran a handfull of Nittos and Toyos that were seemingly made with lead beads.

Even running the D load range, theyre comfortable. Cant think of anything to complain about.

Ive heard this few times now and that sucks. The main selling point for me with the AT3Ws was the winter performance. They're very quiet as well, but they're heavy and wore fast for me, they were also terrible in standing rain water here. Losing some winter performance makes them a no go for me, not that that matters much anymore though.
That does suck. Baja boss is awesome in standing water at highway speeds.

Agreed. Just that they go straight from 37’s to 40. I don’t want 40’s. This thing is a gutless turd as is. :) but in the best way.

First world problem, but I feel the same way about the absence of the illusive 37x11.5 sizes on the market.

🤞
Me too. Why do those sizes only exist in terrible tires?

If we leave late for our winter trip, the dirt road to our place can turn into 4 inches of ice. I have used the Baja Boss 37” tires for years and I have pulled SVUs (including Jeeps) off the edge of our hill in the ice. my Baja Boss tires will start from a dead start on the hill and crawl up the hill.

one time I pulled an E-Jeep off the edge and he asked why my jeep worked so well on ice…I simply said “the right tires”…
Game changing. Why do I think I’m going to end up on the same tires.

Unpopular opinion (and look to some), but narrower is better. After riding on 255/85R17 (34.6x10x17) Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires through Michigan winters, I will never go with anything even remotely wider ever again and nothing but an all terrain for me too. I absolutely love these tires.

Of all the 4x4 trucks I have ever owned, this is by far the best winter driving vehicle setup I myself have ever experienced.

I’m with you. I also would love the weight reduction. I want Mickey to make my tires in 38x11.5. As much as I want that size, I can’t choose nitto.

I live in Colorado and I have some tire questions for the group. My Mojave Gladiator has 37" Falcon wildpeaks on it that do excellent in the winter here. My Wifes Rubicon has the xtreme recon package and has the factory 35" KO2's on it. They also do excellent in the winter here. Additionally, my wife put 100k miles on her KO2's and they could probably go another 20k before needing to be replaced. Their wear life is downright commendable. I noirmally need new tires at 40k-50k miles.
ISSUE: I want a more agressive offroad tire, but I live in Colorado and not dying on icy snowy roads in the winter is pretty important. I am considering getting the trail grapplers but all I hear about them is that while they are unstoppable in the mud and on the rocks, they are pretty horrid on ice/snow.

So as a forum, what is your experience with a Goldilock tire? Great on ice/snow, but pretty good on the rocks too. Am I stuck with getting another Falcon wildpeak? Not that there is a problem with that.

(SIDENOTE: as I live in Colorado and most of my wheeling is west, I'm not too concerned with mud performance, I just need to stick to rocks when i'm offroad)

Pictures so the post isn't text only. Although I do regularly go out with the wife when we hit the mountains.
My vote is Mickey Thompson BB AT. they are a hybrid and so far have delivered. I too live and play in Colorado.

IMHO, Unless a Gladiator is used strictly on road, tires are a compromise between on road and off road activities. For example, in deep sand, I don’t want to “break through” the top of the sand with a narrow tire, rather I want the flotation of a wider tire…same for mud and deep snow…flotation of wider tires is preferred.

For rock crawling in a street rig, I don’t think I would have width preference, only height preference.

since my rig is used a fair amount off road, I go with the Baja Boss 37x12.20 until MT makes a 37x11.50 in this tire.

Certainly deep sand, deep offroad snow and watery mud holes are the width exception(s).

The OP’s “issue” statement seemed more on-road oriented. “Not dying on icy snow roads…” whatever stated exactly.

That’s where I’m stuck. If they come out with 38x11.5, it would be killer.

And I’m seriously considering new tires this weekend or next week. I’m joining @40x40 on some hairy trails starting on the 11th, and might want some new sticky’s.

I personally run the Yokohama Geolandar X-ATs Which I have zero complaints about in the snow and ice or on the rocks or mud, I do however also run some beefy tire chains for deep deep snow. So if you wanted to grab a tire with slightly worse snow performance and get a set of chains thats also an option.

Broke out the chains after sliding on some ice. Worth it to not take an adventure over a cliff.
