Go get them, but after my experience Friday and yesterday, get someone other than discount to mount them.
I plan on mounting and balancing them myself at the Ft. Carson Auto Hobby shop. The real question now is will 5 37's fit in the jeep for the drive to Carson.

They will. I’ve done it. But bring a couple straps.

Yup. Its HUGE. I guess they call it the "auto skills shop" but i'm old school and it used to be called auto hobby shop. They have 18 lift bays, an alighnment bay, full tool boxes for every bay plus a fully stocked tool room for specialty tools, tire balance machine, welders and welding services, exheaust bending machine, paint spray and mixing room, pretty much any and everything you could need to do any job from pulling an engine to rebuilding an engine, to a simple oil change or tire rotation. If you need a specialty tool and they don't have it you just fill out a form and they buy it and add it to their tool room. The place is awesome. I have replaced a cam there, pulled and replaced a hemi in a grand cherokee in there, done 2 jeep lift kits there, and I do all of my regular maintenance there.

Pretty much all active duty military installations country wide have one. If you're active or retited you can use it.

Matter of fact, i think all bases world-wide have one. I remember going to the Grafenwoehr auto skills center in Germany about a decade ago.

Theres one on Ft. Carson, and one on the Air Force Academy grounds. But unless you are Active Duty military or retired military, you're not going to be able to use it. It's a "perk" of service I guess. They even offer oil changes to spouses of deployed service members there. It's really a great place to do your own wrenching.

Got it. Both are that way? Oh well. I guess I’m back to wanting a lift. But I’d really love a tire machine and balancer. I’d never need a shop again!

Super cool that you get access to places like that.

There's even provisions if you're on a base without a hobby shop and work at a unit that has maintainence bays the commander can authorize personal vehicle maintenance there during liberty hours.

Unfortunately, yes. Both are that way. Before you can use the shop they check for military ID and make you take a 30 minute safety course with a test at the end. Its super simple though covers things like where are the fire extinguishers, what to do with used oil, new vs used rags, how to check out tools, etc.

As far as the tire balancer goes, the first time I used the machine I had no clue what I was doing. I asked one of the attendants to show me how it worked and he gladly helped me balance all 5 tires, then showed me the calendar for where they offer classes on how to use the tire balance machine.
