however i do not have a bumper with a winch mount or detachable sides

cant the above brush guard be installed on my bumper?

or can you recommend a better option?

Just a FYI, the top bar is a optional separate purchase item for the steel bumper, it does not come with the MOPAR 3 piece steel bumper assembly.

yep, i like the look of the top bar over buying a max mad bumper. If i can score a factory bumper used i'll be all over it.

You need the steel bumper, unfortunately it doesn't fit the plastic one. I have the Mopar version of that hoop and love it. I too like a more minimalistic setup.

yep, i just learned that. I'd bet someone on this site has a steel bumper kicking around. Or the dealer will get me a deal.

They can be found on the forums and Facebook marketplace. The JL one is the exact same and will fit as well.

Mopar Part #: 82215121AE, they tend to run about $1300 on various websites.

If you're interested in something lighter and cheaper that will work with that stinger, MP Concepts has a clone that's aluminum.

thank you! though i worry about aluminum should i ever get into an accident. I'm going to check the dealer and see what the bill might be. Pretty much 4 bolts to put it on yeah? my truck is brand new, so not gonna be any locked up bolts. fairly simple outside of swapping out all the lights?

It is definitely more than 4 bolts, at least 8 but I think it is 10 or 12. It has been 3 years since I did my winch so my memory on the number of bolts is fuzzy.

Ebay can be your friend. I just picked on up today with a little wear that started out at a pretty good price with free shipping so I "watched it". This morning they made a $100 off offer and Ebay had given me a 10% off parts coupon so I couldn't resist.

Keep in mind the Mopar steel bumper does not come with a skid plate. Which means if you find a Rubicon black or Mojave silver skid plate that come standard with their plastic bumper, it will not fit with the steel bumper without modifications.

If you find one used, hopefully it has the fog lights in it. Not a big deal but the ones in your plastic bumper require aftermarket housings to fit into the steel.
